A few months ago I remembered how much fun I had playing starcraft back in the day...so I ended up playing through it and then ended up playing through all of SC2 but had to watch a few YT playthroughs to help me with some of the tougher missions, which led the YT algo to start recommending other SC2 videos to me...and here I am in my 40's and watching uThermal videos and having such a laugh 😀

To be honest I appreciate Marc isn't the best in the scene but his content is very entertaining. Compare it to watching the best in the scene, Serral, who says like two words in 30 minutes lol.

If you're ever wondering whether or not it's worth it to get liberator range, the total cost of the upgrade and the fusion core is the same as 2 liberators. On maps with a lot of dead-space, that makes it well worthwhile.

I know nothing about Starcraft, never played, never watched. I discovered your channel quite recently, seeing as how you're about to beat people at an incredibly high level while handicapping yourself; to me, being able to qualify seems like a no brainer to me. Maybe there's an even higher skill level I'm not aware of having only the exposure of this channel. That said, playing enough video games in my life, I can easily recognize the incredibly high skill level you play at, objectively speaking. Here's hoping you make it in, I don't see how you possibly couldn't

That first match was so good! Funny how you were talking about it being an unfavorable match up, but you were able to raid your opponent enough that they couldn't get enough momentum. Was very entertaining 😉
26:45 An SCV beats a drone in a straight up fight. But if the drone pulls away for a couple of seconds then reengages, then the autoheal is enough for the drone to win.

thermy, really good stuff on the penguin brothers. My take is that u can mix in a medivac and one or two svcs on autorepair in the first waves of the penguin brothers attack. That way you can either keep the medivac a little bit back on the frontline to send wounded hellbats back or forward to micro your units.
hellbats are your blood line so keep those boys up.
If you are really all in why not build them closer too, proxy the starfield, viking to snipe overloards, then more factories with it, bring another 1 or 2 svcs to scout around initially then setup a bunker to hold svc and serve as rendez-vous before the frontlines. The sole purpose of the bunker is to hold the svcs if you decide to move your medivacs to the front, to keep the svcs protected (they can be sent at any given time).
Though I think w/ the penguin brothers reaching a mineral line and fighting there should be a nice goal, they move fast so they can alodge themselves and wait for the vikings. Once I've done an attack like that, vikings would wait out of vision on the natural from behind the mineral line, hellions would infiltrate like crazy, morph 80% to hellbats and the 20% to cause chaos, drop the vikings from behind and really cause heavoc. Lot's of cover, eco damage, so even if you get displaced you probably have done quite some damage. Queens are the only ranged so the hellbats never need to fight the queens, they just need to keep the lings and banes away. Since the queens will try to hit your hellbats, your vikings should be as close as possible behind them, so maybe even set the vikings to guard your hellbats and only control the hellbats(I might be tripping here but you get my point) Mixing a raven to snipe creep can also be really good with this strat to deny vision for the incoming hellions

Challenge idea: you can't do a committed attack until you have 5 command centers.
Since the 5-CC build works so well when your units are limited, I'm curious as to how good it is on its own - maybe aim for top-10 grandmaster?

Marc is like Goku, training with weighted clothes for months on end, then when he takes em off and fights normal he's 1.5x the power level.

A fun build that might work as a "cheese" in TvP: ghost-marauder-viking/cyclone. Ghosts so you can EMP batteries, and a few forward SCVs to rep the cyclones/vikings

This is a bit like watching magnus carlsson in chess.
He also hates meta plays and tries to force the game out of standard positions. Then win because he's better at non-standard positions
Yesterday on stream I got harassed by mass mine / cyclone ... as if mines are widespread everywhere and cyclones kite my army through that minefield and then it was leapfrogged closer to me and I got chocked into two bases. I think you can make a lot out of that.
Penguin Bros would have longer-lived hellbats... with just 1 medivac per 4 vikings!

I feel like there is potential in a hellbat cyclone build based on the same principal as penguin brothers where instead of going starport and vikings you just get a second factory and reactor cyclones have cyclones fight queens and hellbats for lings.
That was a "give up" 2nd game.

Wow, it still amazes me how good you actually are when you play "properly". The best use of new cyclones that I have seen is defensive/greedy. Get a reaper, scout that isn't an all in, get a few cyclones to repell oracles, adepts, lings and overlords and perhaps fight a bit against other stuff then expand very fast.
Marc is like the golden goose that keeps on giving:)
and when u play tournament games always make upg for planetary and bunkers and other buildings always and fast as u can this can save u sometime
I know some people might find it boring but I want to see you compete with grand masters with a perfectly normal build

I think, aggainst that protoss strategy. can be good prioritize minerals , just gas for upgrades reactors and do mass marines without healing? i mean, by the time he does that stalkers you can do a lot of marines, and with stimpacks you can chase them. the stalkers have slow attack velocity i feel they are weak aggaist mass group cheap units. he can snipe some marines but if you stimpack them and just autoattack him with a fast reinforce of more marines is a good trade no? is not efficient for kills but can give you the victory?

As disappointed as I am with the new Cyclone, it looks like just those first 2 that can now come out at a new timing do hit quite hard if used straight away
