- I have always been using the FSR MOD. But the creator is now working on a new project that supercedes this mod. It supports the same upscaling methods as the FSR mod, but in addition also works with the Oculus runtime ( quest 2) and will eventually add additional performance enhancement tools. I use this to play DCS with a more stable FPS on my Quest 2. But you can use it for many other games aswell. Not all, but many!

Fallout 4 VR struggles even on a 3080ti (with a bunch of graphical mods) until i did this. Now 90fps and frametime of 6. Crazy smooth. Thank you

going to give this a shot in DCS world to hopefully have a more stable FPS value in my sessions, I struggle with the stutters which my biggest hiccup in DCS VR at the moment! Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for showcasing the performance mod, I'm planning to use it soon as I'm having some performance issue through a wired link and just wanted to ask; do you know if this is compatible with the Oculus Killer mod? (The oculus killer basically removes the oculus link home and automatically boots up steamvr)
Do you know if FSR has any limitations with VR rendering? I used the horizon zero dawn's built-in DLSS with the AER VR mod , and while it was generally OK, it had shimmering /ghosting artifacts on anything up close I think because of the perspective change in each eye - DLSS not knowing that the frames being upscaled came from different perspectives. DLSS need motion vectors / data from previous frame. Not sure if this is an AER issue, or just VR rendering issue in general, for upscaling compatibility.
Hi Flying! To be honest i also notice some shimmering. But it also really depends on the game I am playing. In Il-2 sturmovik i have noticed a lot of shimmering and in DCS much less. I am not sure what the cause to that is exactly.... :(
Honestly i think it might be graphics settings conflicting with each other.
@@laubox i think if the shimmering disappears if you close one eye, then it is some setting (not necessarily FSR) not directly compatible with VR rendering, at least that was my understanding with horizon zero dawn. Luke said that he had to do some additional work getting DLSS working properly in red dead redemption 2, although that mod wont work anymore now after the DMCA he got.

Does this work with the Standalone version of DCS instead of Steam? I'm using the Oculus software.
Also, if I'm using a NVIDIA 3080 ti do I choose -nis, or is -fsr still better?

FSR 3.0 Frame Generation Mod from LukeFZ has been released for weeks already! A lot of videos showing how it can double the frame rate for many games by ALL GPUs. Any chance to try it out? Thanks a lot!
Hello, any more information on this and how to use it? I play Vrchat on oculus quest 2 airlink and I get 45 fps at MOST with Low graphics and the lowest rendering mode on the resolution for oculus
Is there anyway to tell if it is working or not. i copied the 2 files to raceroom folder where the exe is and have the vrperfkit folder on my desktop. But does not seam to have any effect :( anyone got it to work in raceroom?

@@BledigStudioswith msfs and virtual desktop WITH VDXR, the game FREEZES when pressing alt tab to enter vr mode. It only works with airlink for me. And the performance is very bad, lots of stutter

So only for games that do not natively support VR only?
No games that add it later on usually have bad performance but with a VR title it's usually optimized enough to where you don't need this but if you have a bad GPU like me (GTX 750Ti) then it can be used to mega upscale the game so it's not as blocky as if you were to just crank the resolution down kind of like an advanced anti aliasing

Rec room has easy anti cheat. So when you add those files, easy anti cheat thinks your tryna cheat in the game so unfortunately this doesn’t work for games with EAC

In DCS the dll file is dxgui.dll and not dxgi.dll. is this why it doesnt work? i still didnt figure out how to enable it. Anyone can suggest something?

If i have an AMD videocard, how do i use this technology natively? I mean should i go with this files KIT or just enable Fidelity in Adrenaline AMD Software?
Try the adrenaline version first

What if the game already has fsr? Does it matter because fsr doesn’t seem to help in into the radius for me (rx6600]
Very late, but it will still work. I did this back when people actually played Vail, and I did not have any issues. It worked a lot better than Vail's FSR adaptation.

I believe you put it in the bin folder for the DCS install you are using. For example I am using bin-mt as my location

It's work for me, but when I put render scale 0.7 my fps goes up to 80/90 fps but my graphics became whorst, so I put 0.9 and I got 60/70 fps with quality.

I've been trying to get SKYRIM VR to work on my Quest 3 for days. With pretty sharp graphics and lots of mods. I've TRIED LOTS OF THINGS. But I never got the desired result.
THIS GUIDE HELPED ME A LOT! Download files, unpack, copy,...play!! SO EASY AND SO GOOD! Skyrim now runs for me with an upscale of 150% with good and decent graphics. Maybe you still need to improve something via mod, but Skyrim VR looks now at least 100% better to me than before.
...at a stable 60FPS.

What is the difference between the two tools? Openvr_fsr_v2.1.1 and VR performance toolkit 0.2
VR performance Toolkit supercedes the OpenFSR mod. It supports the same upscaling methods as Open FSR, but in addition also works with the Oculus runtime and will eventually add additional performance enhancement tools. As a consequence, THE openVR FSR moDproject is in maintenance mode, and I encourage you to check out the new project: VR Performance Toolkit
I think this option (VR performance toolkit 0.2 ) works with virtual reality games because It does not contain a file ( openvr.api.dll. ) inside its own files

Before I try this and find myself completely letdown, does this do anything for FS2020? I've got a GTX 1080 and it's just not enough to play at the 25fps I can get in VR after turning down basically all the graphics settings, but if I could get that anywhere close to 50fps I'd be happy enough until I can get a better GPU.

@@Not-today-wb9do Not sure what you mean since the Quest 3's specs are better than the G2's. The resolution is almost identical but the pancake lenses make a huge difference. I'm not saying you're lying, but there are a lot of flight simmers on TH-cam who have 4090s and only manage to get between 50 and 60fps on high settings, so I don't see any way you'd get 60fps on max settings with a 1080 Ti. It's just not possible.

I have an RTX 4080, 64 gigs of RAM, and a Ryzen 9 7900x and my performance is super good in regular games, but in vr it decreases a lot. I play bonelab and I get 30-40 frames without anything spawned and bad render latency. I have no idea how to fix both my frames and latency so can someone help
I saw virtually no performance improvement when upgrading my GPU up to an RTX3080. I went from a RX 590 8GB, to an RX 5700XT to the 3080. My VR games STILL struggle, they stutter AND have high frametimes. My PC is more than capable of running VR games, as I have a Ryzen 9 3900XT and 32GB of 36000mhz RAM. Every single time, the games refuse to use my pc properly!
I've tried loads of fixes to files, upgraded my motherboard to one with a better built-in USB controller, swapped to three different Link cables including the official one (I use a Quest 2), bought FPSVR, even splerged on a Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 router (TP-Link Archer GX90 AX66000) and set up a dedicated band for AirLink. I used to get better performance when I used VirtualDesktop a while back, but after re-installing it recently, I get worse frametimes and latency, to the point where there is a very noticeable delay between my movement and the one that happens in game, so that is out of the question now.
I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the heck is going on! I've even considered going for another headset, but I'm not sure that will solve the issue, and I've thrown more than enough money at the problem already. VR just isn't ready in my experience, which is very sad. There is really no reason my games should be going down to 45fps, regardless of settings, and my cpu and gpu usage idling between 30%-40% when in a VR Game....

I assume if you have a Nvidia card you use NIS but if you have an AMD card you use FSR. Cuz a lot of people keep saying to use FSR but I wasn't sure since I have a Nvidia card.
