- This is the most honest 22 step process I can give you to potty train a toddler. It's not based on what's most effective, it's based on exactly what my wife and I did, getting frustrated with the process, then seeing it all work out in 4 days. As of this post, Amalah's been officially potty trained for about a week.
Nayely turns 4 months this week, so we'll be switching out her diapers for underwear by Saturday.

My name's La Guardia Cross. I make music, art, film, and I co-created 2 baby girls with my wife, Leah.
New Father Chronicles began in November of 2014 when my daughter Amalah was 1-week-old. I had no idea what I was doing, so I decided to chronicle my journey on TH-cam and make fun of myself along the way. Our 2nd daughter, Nayely, was born in April of 2017.
My channel is filled with the silly adventures I have with my girls, infant and toddler interviews, my interpretations of their babble, silly skits, and the things I've learned or unlearned as a parent. Sometimes Leah and I mix it up a bit and share some pretty personal moments as well. Why? Well, we're far from perfect and we've learned a lot from our mistakes.
As a preschool teacher, this is hilariously true. Like a good 40% of my job is getting kids to the bathroom in time.
I repeated step 16 for approximately 1 year, 10 months, 3 weeks, 72 hours, 58 minutes, and 18 seconds.

Potty training for us during the day went pretty smooth...the night time was our biggest hurdle. I can admit that I'm a little jealous because you got to eat the celebratory candy at one point and time lol.
+DeacSpeaks even with the jokes, this video is pretty close to everything that happened a little over a week ago. She was fully potty trained in 4 days, but those first 3 days moved REEEEAAAALLLLL slow. Once it clicked, it just clicked. Phase 2 is seeing it play out on trips, etc, when it takes a little time to find a bathroom. How did that work for y'all? Like, at malls and stuff....

Once we got through the night time and no longer needed pull-ups. Trips and places like the mall were easy because they would let us know (On trips we would take the potty with us JUST in case). One thing I was very happy to see at our local mall was a family bathroom. That way I could take my daughters out by myself, but didn't have to worry about taking them into the men's room.
this was hilarious!!! the celebratory dance 😂😂😂 my son is 2 years and 2 months old... gosh! I've postponed potty training till October. It is not easy!

Was it the drinking which was hard, yet also fun? You know you have a problem when you get to the point that your kid isn't the only one having accidents.
I laughed so much, I forgot ALL OF my potty training and made a mistake in my bed.

I swear I thought my daughter was going to be accepting her Bachelor's degree still not potty trained. When she was 3, one day she asked me if she went potty every single day for a week, world I take her to see Pocahontas. We got to see Pocahontas that week.

I have a 13 yr old, 7 yr old and a 2 yr old and each time I potted trained I totally forget how hard it is...Why!!!!!😂 It feels like a never ending battle with the 2 yr old...
Hated potty training😭😭😭😭1 son would sneak into the closet and let out logs, the other angrily told his sitter that 'she was going to change his diapers and no, he wasn't sitting on that stinkin potty,' (all of 2 yrs old), and my daughter refused to go on the toilet unless we were in public and then she suddenly wanted to use the bathroom. I had to carry a little toilet seat with me, in her diaper bag. Even with all of this, she continued to pee and poop in every pair of Barbie or Hello Kitty underwear I purchased. She stopped the 2nd week of preschool at 3 yrs old, when a little boy that she liked told her that she wore poopy diapers. That's when I decided -no more kids.
And none of them thanked their father.
+sybil arroyo WHEW! I was sweating through this whole comment! That's ROUGH! Peer pressure will get it though, hahaha. Amalah was stubborn, then all of the sudden, after I nearly gave up hope, it just clicked. I attribute most of the success to blocking out a weekend to stay home and take her to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes.

My lil bros were trained by age 2, it was required for preschool. The youngest trained himself in one day, by watching his bro (5) poop in toilet. He keep pushing him trying to see what he was doing. When the older bro was done, He ripped off diper& sat on toilet& pooped.

I had the "honor" of training two of my nieces. The first one took 2 months because her mom put pampers on her which defeated the purpose but at least she did number 1 and not #2. Years later when I was recovering from abdominal surgery I trained my other niece and it took 4 days! Yes 4 days! I used candy as a reward every time she went and let her know that if she wanted to be with the big girls she can't be pooping and peeing on herself lol. So now my nieces are 15 and 9 respectively and now I have the wisdom and experience which I did not ask for yet to train my own kids when they are born. Love your videos! God bless!
