Forgive my ignorance, but I don't have any clue if pony up, shell out, and fork over are completely interchangeable. Each of these verbs sounds the same to me as a foreigner. Could you please make it clear?
Hey Paul. Thanks for commenting. They all have a similar meaning. Pony up is a bit different because you're "paying money that is owed." Both shell out and fork over are more interchangeable because you could use them to refer to buying things. 😊
Man, that nightclub last night really cleaned me out i haven't got a penny left the drinks cost *an arm and a leg,* and I had to *fork over* an inordinate amount of money to the bartender.
