Using Tata nano for past 5 years 50 k & I am so happy with it. I also drive Honda city too. But I mostly take my nano everywhere. Easily it clock 90 with 4 people . I do no what u guys talking about underpowered in this vehicle. First try to do test drive or own any car and talk. This is best vehicle in this class.
I see some people (and some TH-camrs) trying to compare it with sonet, venue, Nexon, brezza, XUV300 (basically the cars in compact SUV segment). You can't compare these cars, the price range is very different. Magnite is much cheaper than those cars.

I have booked Nissan Magnite XV non-turbo model. I am wondering if engine is underpowered or not. What are your genuine thoughts on non-turbo engine, it's speed, it's pickup and power? Which is better, XL (Turbo) or XV (Non-Turbo)? Please Note: I have been driving Swift VDI (Diesel) for past 10 years and most (more than 75%) of my driving is in Delhi NCR itself.
Gear ratio is reduced due to small engine....in other cars in 100kmph engine rpm is 2.5k in 5th gear....but here in 2.5k rpm....speed is 80kmph......so i think magnite will give less mileage Normally people think that smaller engine is underpowered.....but concept is not direct.....in omni800 engine was 800cc...it used to pull 8people....gear ratio matters

Expecting a car to outperform other competitors which are more expensive is stupid. This engine is same as in Triber. Even Alto drives with 5 people. The car don't stand still after revving with 5 people 😂 Performance is a relative aspect. You get what you pay for. Don't expect more than an entry level hatchback.

Some people dont understand that 1.0 litre 3 cylinder engine will never ever match a 1.2 litre 4 cylinder engine in terms of reliability, smoothness and longetivity. Thats the reason why maruti swift, baleno having 1.2 liter naturally aspirated engine have such a good engine life. Not sure how the engine of nissan along with kiger would compete with maruti suzuki engine. I can compromise with feature but never with the engine. I would never go for nissan, kiger, triber etc without a solid market reliability data for these cars which would definitely take a lot of years.
Turbo or powerful engine is must have for car fully used for tourist and cab services.. Family trips with good roads it doesn't matter if car has 1.2 or higher engine..what matters is build quality & NCAP rating of 4+ most of the maruthi brand cars like wagon R have weak build quality.. I own a Magnite XL non turbo💪
