This is exactly what I was looking for. I have been using the basic plastic one for years and it takes a lot of scrubbing effort and in the process they break or the knot gets untied. I am going to buy the natural loofah and try it for a month.

I am 16 and I have been using that pair you have. I think that the gloves are more effective than anything else. In India, the reason we have dark pits and knees is because of the accumulation of dead cells. These cells, more often than not, get glued to the skin. After years or even months, there is a mountain of them. Though I do a lot of research on these things, I couldn't find the answers to a few questions. If anybody is there to help...
1: what substance or thing keeps them glued to the skin?
2: how do we know the efficiency of mechanical exfoliators?

Honestly i think a biologist or someone in the skin science field will be able to answer your questions.
You're Right by some extent about the accumulation of dead skin cells but having dark knees and pits is natural for people of colour. Though if they're way too dark then your normal skin, that might be something to worry about.
But it's really normal to have them darker than the rest of your body. And White Europeans also complain about having dark underarms than the rest of their body it's natural.
@@smollilbean I am writing this after a year. Thanks for this wonderful comment. I got to know about this fact by reading the research papers online. It states that the major reason is high insulin. In countries like India where people are mostly vegan and vegetarian, they usually do not eat protein-rich food all day long. We tend to consume a big part of a day's calories through carbs. More carbs = more insulin. Many people in India have this kind of diet and this is the main cause of all the nasty things. Doctors do not agree with the idea of using an exfoliator like a loofah as it does more harm than good. Insulin causes the growth of cells. This causes hyperkeratosis and you get darkened skin. By fixing your diet and losing a few kgs, I believe that it could be transformed into what we are looking for.
If you use keratolytic agents without making your insulin levels go down, it is a rarity to get the results.

Hey, I’ve read some comments that said you’re from Hyderabad! So glad to know it, I’m from Hyderabad too! Since, you’ve mentioned that you get your natural loofahs from your mom’s garden, I’m wondering how does your mom grow the loofah plant here? Is Hyderabad’s climate apt for growing the loofah plant? If yes, then can you please let me know where do you source the loofah seeds from? To grow the plant?! I really want to grow one in my balcony garden. Thank you!
Its the regular ridge gaurd plant. Anyone can grow it. But you can find these loofahs online. It will take you very long to grow the plant fully and wait forthe vegetable to over ripe. Just buy online 🙂

any silicon product in my opinion will not give DRASTIC changes. Go for dry brushing and korean bath scrub towels. those work wonders i can guarantee you!

8:20 i won't go into details but I used a very stiff nylon floor scrubber. I've got sensitive skin, just scratching leaves red marks.

That is why I think silicone scrubbers are best for daily use. Because they're soft and make your body wash lather well. They're not exactly the best exfoliaters but the point is that they lather well.
