Mary I learned how to crochetnit in the '70's when you first invented it. I'm not sure where I got mine. I am excited to start a hobby again I loved years ago!!!
I love this woman! She was our neighbor for 12 years. My husband and I got to learn many things from her and her husband. I'm just here to hear her voice again 😊
I love watching this video, I never had the ability to craft with my gran, she was not a good crafting gran... she was a good drunken gran... to see someone who has mastered something so well, it's inspiring. It is wonderful to learn from someone who understands the importance of quality and putting love and passion into each stitch...Thanks!
I was so delighted to find this video! I find her instructions very easy to follow and she reminds me of my grandma. Maybe that's why I like her so much. Thank you for posting this.
Thank you for posting this video. I have ahd the crochenit hook and the instructional book for years now, but haven't been able to put the to use because I couldn't get the hang of it. Watching you helps a lot.
Your great funny and easy to understand, watched the first time ever of any kind of corchenit and now working the stiches thank you please bring much much more
I enjoyed watching this video very much. I've never tried crochenit, but I do crochet and knit so I believe you've inspired me to try it. A point that I could apply to my other work that you made is if you use the actual hook to make the loops then the tension will be very strong and tense. I'm still trying to master my tension in my projects; I'm getting there though. I'll let you know how I go when I try crochenit. All I need to do is find the hooked needle! Thank you once again, -Natalie.
I need to see how to attach the panels once they are finished. Teaching myself and having a difficult time figuring that out could use a video to show me. Thanks
Hi, you can whip stich them together with a long tail left over from your project . It's pretty simple and gives a nice finish to your work . ( put the 2 panels next to eachother on a table or any flat surface, make sure the stiches are all aligned , then take the theaded needle and sow in each stich on each panel . ) Hope that makes some sense lol . Have a great day !
I found a book ("Crochet on the Double Made Easy") which shows how to work the basic stitch in both "crochet on the double" and "crochetnit", on separate pages. My "dumb noob" question: what's the difference? (I'm currently teaching myself TSS with a single-ended Tunisian hook, and have just ordered my first set of double-ended Tunisian hooks from Amazon.com. I like the idea of creating a 2-color reversible fabric which looks even more like knitting than TSS -- and which sounds like it won't curl, either!)
This is similar to afghan stitch but it is not quite the same. With afghan stitch (Tunisian crochet), the same side is always facing you, and you never turn the work. Therefore, afghan stitch curls like crazy! With cro-hook or crochenit, since you turn the work and work both sides, it never curls. You almost always use two different colors. It's sort of confusing to use the same colors throughout. I get around this by using something like one pure white and one white pompador.
how nice to find you, I knew you in La Paz Bolivia in 80´s when I was at the Mission. How marvelous surprice. I would like to remenber how to make a Clown. Can you teach me. I hope you willbe all right
I'm not sure at all why it's called crochetnit. hmmmm I love the video, maybe I'll get it in the next vid. I have one of these hooks and I just use for Tunisian.
I see the difference, it's the reversible aspect and technique that is believed to be different from tunisian. Well, still bravo for inventing new ways to get people stitching and not fear the needle and the HOOK, aaarrrgh

I bought her dvd's back in 2012 and she got me started with crocheting this way. It was a gateway video to Tunisian crochet :) Very lovely lady.

Thank you.
this is very much like tunisian crochet. She is VERY adorable!
@kristinel4christ the crochenit website is listed above, and the needle can be purchased there.
