Pay attention to this everyone. A year ago on April 19th my 45 year old sister had a massive stroke. Learning the signs is essential. She was on the floor next to her bed and said she fell off. I asked if she needed help getting up and she said yes. I grab her hand and pull, say "give me your other hand.... Give me your other hand... Give me the the orher hand!" Then she says "i cant move my arm" I felt my heart jump into my throat, looked at her and said "look at my face and smile right now" only half of her face smiled. I gently put her back down and said "just hold on" and called 911. I live 450 feet away from a fire station so it didn't take long, and when she heard the sirens "is that for me?" "Yeah dont worry about it" because i was trying not to panic her. I kept it together until the ambulance left the driveway. And I instantly lost my composure then. She can't move her left arm, can't walk very well, is severely depressed and doesnt reallt want to put energy into recovery. But i also read that when a stroke happens on the right side it can make people more difficult.
