i dont bother with safety cables for my lighting rig as i use heavy duty clamps. radio mic's wise i bring extra batteries , lighting wise i run cabling for all 4 Robe fixtures . but i can never use tape as i always get told of for using it at all my gigs as they are parquet flooring and most of the venues i deal with are old buildings and when i use the trussing the tape takes the shine off the truss so i never bother with tape or ties . but with the size of my rig i try to limit what i take
-A small sewing kit. Have one and know how to use it. -Back up cd player and a stack of CDs in case you computer crashes or someone wants you to play their cd. -IPhone adapter so you can play music from someone's phone. For Weddings, I also bring three other things: 1-Garter-in case they forget 2-Plastic Bouquet in case they don't have one or theirs fell apart 3- A Cake serving set-You'd be surprised how often they don't have one or can't find it.
ok i will order some sfatey cable but i will cover the cable in foam then my moving lights wont get scratched . but i have just ordered some cable bridges so people can step on the cables without ruining them cause these are better than gaffer especially with venues with very old flooring
i've got my first gig coming up at a club house/bar/village hall type of place and i know the venue has speakers but i was just wondering what adapters/cables etc. i need to take just to be safe. i run a laptop with a mixtrack pro if that helps. thanks in advance
I always make sure to bring my ipod with a hour long mix on it. In case theres a problem with my laptop or decks i can still just plug my ipod in and that gives me an hour to fix the problem :) Another essential is deodrant , you can get pretty smelly if your jumping around haah
I didn't hear anything about wearing clean underwear in case you're in an accident? How about keeping some breath mints in case of halitosis, safety pins in case you rip out your pants while leaning over to pick something up and some band aids in case you cut yourself on while setting up.
If you don't have an intro , id start with saying something like " hey guys t's JLDJUK here and today im gonna be talking about _____. still good vid though
great vid! i always carry a spare crossfader for whatever mixer im using, and theres been probably 2 or 3 times when i needed it too.
5 Years i've been DJing with you. And i've never even realised that you had half of these things... :D

I would bring long dmx cables, because one day your wireless dmx receiver and transmitter might decide not to work. Or you forgot the power cord etc.
