I agree I don’t see a reason to keep him tbh, the dudes been in the league for 6 years and missed more than half of his games in regular season and played a single minute in the playoffs.
Zion could never adjust to the NBA. He’s always been so much more naturally talented than everyone, he never had to take care of his body and stay in legitimate shape. In the NBA, you gotta be on your game 24/7 or the game will pass you by. Zion never pushed himself to be great and take care of himself.
What is with the NOLA Hornets/Pelicans with their star players? Its like every time they get a star (Baron Davis,CP3,AD, and Zion), they can't keep anyone healthy or happy.
the problem is giving up significant assets for a guy who plays less than 50% of games, can't shoot, doesn't defend, has serious questions around his commitment and professionalism, and brings negative media attention to his team pretty regularly would be absolutely insane. The only saving grace is that his contract isn't 100% guaranteed, but that would still mean that a team would have to be comfortable ending up with nothing from the trade.
I just wanna say how disgusting it would be for NOLA if the Lakers had AD, Zion and Jaxson Hayes on top of them losing Lonzo and Josh Hart and only keeping Brandon Ingram who doesn't want to be there
Personally, I think Zion's hype has been dead since 2021. I know Ja's reputation has been slanted since the 2022-23 gun suspensions, but literally anyone could tell how Ja is the real best player in the 2019 draft. With the emergence of Victor Wembamyama who actually plays, I don't think the spotlight will ever be on Zion again unless he completely changes his perception. However, if the Pelicans actually draft Cooper Flagg, then I wouldn't be surprised if the Pelicans try to shop Zion especially with the reports from last season about the weight clause of "non-guaranteed money" which might make him an easier asset to dispose of.
