Great stuff, Khara. I'm a CS6 user with no intention to change that, so it's cool to see content that is not dependent on newfangled functions. Your videos are wonderfully clear and well-structured. You are an excellent teacher.

this is awesome! is there by chance a photoshop action or somehow to do this with a smart object to keep the text live and changeable without having to redraw the shadows each time? Just found your channel and am subscribing! Thank you!

Thanks, Christy! Welcome! YES!!! It would involve placing the initial text, making a copy to serve as the shadow, converting the shadow layer to a smart object, and then duplicating it a zillion and a half times while nudging each duplicate slightly to eventually create the illusion of a long shadow. To do this easily, using the Move tool, you hold down the Alt or Option key (this creates a duplicate) and then press the down arrow, then left arrow repeatedly to nudge the duplicated layers (down arrow, left arrow, down arrow, left arrow) while continuing to hold Alt/Option. After all that, if you need to edit the text, you just return to the original shadow layer (now a smart object) and edit it. BOOM! :) I'll add this to my list for an upcoming tutorial and action giveaway. If you have any other suggestions, let me know! Thanks for being here!

@@kplicanic wow! Thank you SO much for your super quick reply! This makes total sense. I'm kind of a newbie with smart objects, but I think I might give this a try. I would LOVE an action! Thanks again - I'm loving all your tutorials! :)

Hello Erika! I'm pretty sure it's Montserrat. I've searched high and low and can't find the file to confirm (🤣😭) but I'm pretty certain. Thanks for watching! :)
