Yep, the Wizard of Oz turned 80 around the time Doug made this review and was quite revolutionary for its use of Technicolor, the tech of capturing using colors in motion pictures. The process has been around since 1916, but Wizard of Oz is arguably the first film to really showcase how far the tech can go.
And yes the owners of Hanna-Barbera produced a series of movies with their properties crossing over with the WWE even getting the real wrestlers of theirs to voice their cartoon counterparts. Although there are no NC reviews of them, I can say as someone who watched the first Scooby-Doo and Wrestlemania movie, those wrestlers... are not voice actors.

Yeah Doug did an entire interview where he talks about things like the channel awesome controversy and the enormous criticism of his The Wall review and it made me respect him more than ever. He may not be the sharpest knife in the crayon box. But he literally not only accepts criticism of his own work but loves and embraces it. Man literally said it'd be pretty hippocritical if he got really mad about someones opinion about him making an opinion and followed it up by crying his eyes out laughing at OneyNG doing a Nostalgia Critic impression and saying that sounds so much like how he does the bit it hurts to laugh.
Its good the guy scaled down to go back to the normal reviews with smaller scale and clearly took fan criticism to heart for the better. Got a lot of respect for the man after seeing how humble he really is after everything that went down.

I’m pretty sure Rob was talking about the reviews for “The Wizard” (a movie purely made to promote Nintendo products) & “The Tom & Jerry Movie” (the 1992 one, to be specific), but hey, not like it matters much at the end of the day. BTW; the reviews for those movies are OLD, I’m talking pre-2010 old.

I don't know why people get so confused on how in The Movie the Hour Glass running out will cause Dorothy's death!
When the sand runs out that is when the airtight room runs out of air and she will suffocate. When The Tin Man chops open the door she gets plenty of air!

18:55 - Peter Lorre is an actor from the _very_ early days of Hollywood, who became famous in the 1930's and 40's (ever heard of Casablanca?), and passed away in the 60's.
He had a distinctly weird face, voice, and mannerisms, so he got parodied a lot in cartoons... and oddly, he still is! Just refer to 'Ren' (of Ren & Stimpy) or 'Slappy Laszlo' (reoccurring character in newer Spongebob seasons).

You should consider reacting to Doug's First Viewings videos. They are basically reaction videos to the movies he reviews. He usually watches them with Rob and they just make jokes. I suggest only watching the ones you've already seen the NC review of, the one for this movie is a good place to start if you're interested. You would also be the first TH-camr that I know of who did reactions of the First Viewing series. Thanks a lot!

Hanna Barbera was the animation studio that created Tom and Jerry, as well as Scooby Doo, the Flintstones, and the Jetsons, and many others. The pictures at the end were the covers to a number of Scooby Doo movies crossing that cartoon with a ton of random celebrities and the like, including WWE wrestlers. It's a cheap effort to piggyback on others' popularity, but Scooby Doo has always done that, so it's not really as surprising as Doug plays it.

Hey Duck, it’s been a while since I last commented on your videos, things have been really busy for me, though not important.
    Real talk…
Doug Walker, the Nostalgia Critic himself, has actually heard of you, he likes your channel name (nice), and Rob Walker, his brother, actually suggested (indirectly from the sound of it) this review for you to react to. That is absolutely awesome. I heard that Doug’s seen people reacting to his work in the past (and he likes seeing these reactions and what goes on in them) but to hear him and Rob suggest a video to someone, dang that’s really cool. You got recognized by the Critic himself, Duck, and his bro suggested a video for you; that’s beyond awesome dude, that’s great.

This is a playlist of Linkara's videos that string along into a storyline.
Linkara reviews comic books but would then add a piece to the overall story that he makes up as he goes along. You may have the option to divert to the reviews that aren't on the list as many of them are parts of the comic book story so then you'd get the full context each time. Ex. It has the Ultimates #5 but not #1-4. So, when you get the chance, check it out.
