Hi Me and my family are currently in the process to pcs to Japan Sasebo. It’s also my first duty station. I needed some help, did you and your family applied for no fee passport to travel to Japan?
Wonderful. Me and my family are full Samoans and knowing that we also have people from the island there feels great. The process is so hard with the no fee. My PS is trying to find out if US Nationals are eligible for no fee. Because the no fee is for US Citizen. I got three more weeks left to get everything processed. It’s overwhelming but praying for a good outcome. Was the house hunting fast process? How many days did you guys stay at the Navy Lodge ? And how quick were they to getting you guys a house please? We are a family of 4
Hi so sorry for the late reply I’m just now seeing this comment! I hope everything went smoothly with the passports. For the housing process there is a waiting list based off when you detached from your last command. Since we detached last May 2022 we were first on the list. We stayed at the lodge for about a month before we were finally offered housing. Once you complete your AOB class you’ll be able to go to the housing office and see where you are on the list. I’ve heard of people waiting 2-3 months but it definitely depends.
Hi I am in deep need of your help. I am currently in Sasebo now without my family due to their No fee passport. My husband he’s good to go but for my two kids they need no fee passport. My kids are US National and they both have US passports. What are the documents needed to apply for a no fee passport ? Did they ask for citizenship certificate? Because we are not citizens yet just US National born in American Samoa one of the US territory. I really want to get my family here but just this no fee process. Hope you can help me with some insight of how your no fee process went. Thank You appreciate any help you could provide.
I was able to come with my tourist passport and his copy of orders with my name on it. Is your family named on your orders and approved to come with you to Japan? I would talk to your command and see who you can contact for the no fee passport
if you don’t mind me asking where did you get your bedroom set? love the vibe and thank you for the video it helps how things can fit and makes me want to dump stuff out before heading to sasebo.
I’m so glad it’s helpful! The bed frame is from Amazon and the night stands & dressers are from ikea. Housing on base is definitely more spacious for American sized furniture than the housing off base is.
Hi Samaria, loved your videos. My husband and I are moving to Sasebo in a month, please tell me how it is there? How are you finding it? Is it anything like Tokyo?
Hi Yvonne! So Sasebo is more countryside than city like. The base itself is very small and so is the town right outside of base. There is always something to do but it may require a little road trip to the next big city over like Fukuoka (2 hours from Sasebo) or Nagasaki (1 hour from Sasebo). If you haven’t already joined the Sasebo spouses FB page I highly recommend to! Also MWR is always planning fun trips to go on each month you can either go with them or take the idea and go yourself :) hope this info helps!!
Omg love it! Ready for #3
working on it as we speak! :)))
