For us to now have a 61,000 capacity stadium is what we dreamed of, but with man utd either increasing their current stadium capacity or building a new 100,000 seater stadium, and other clubs increasing their capacity then yet again, we need to further increase our capacity. Love your videos. I watch every one of them.

United won’t go to 100k. They will go 90k maximum and even then it remains to be seen whether 90k given all extra operational costs is even worth going for.

They spoke about this Quite a few years ago Wayne, opening up the old track alongside cherry lane and having a station where the Clarence pub used to be. Looking forward to your vids mate. Its looking promising !!
I've said it before. You can curve Walton Breck road to accommodate a bigger Kop. Plenty of room across the road from the Kop now. 100 yards either side and rejoins as is. There are much easier projects done all the time. It will be done

Sound like good news. Next phase of development has to think big and combine stadium expansion, transport upgrades and community benefit. With a train station on Utting we won't need as much parking. Stanley Rd car park can be redeveloped as housing , community and leisure facilities fans from the station could walk past it in the park on their way to matches. Utting ave parking can become multistory and people walk on the same pathways to the stadium from there. People who move out of Skerries area for expansion can be offered new housing on the parkside development. There's also plenty of land for Kop expansion if the Church and a few others can get a good deal on being moved to new facilities as part of a new Walton Breck Road precinct. There's enough land around the stadium we just need to rethink it. If the whole process starts with community centre and facilities better transport and jobs for locals, new housing locked in, it could get buy in. Stanley Rd car park and other bits of vacant or underused space near Anfield are at least as big as the space around the Camp Nou with multisport centre, ice skating etc. Think big and think local jobs.

It’s good to see that the council are talking about it. The area has needed it for a long time. Has anything been decided on the future of Goodson Park? If not, why not turn it into a modern facility for the Everton & Liverpool ladies teams?

@ Agreed. The Liverpool ladies don’t need new training facilities but they do rent a home in Prenton Park. No offence to Tranmere but they are in the 4th tier.

Chances of adding a third tier ( 6 K seats ) to the K D stand or boosting by 3.2 K the capacity of the KOP ?
More likely build it out like the Annie Road end - two bigger tiers.
Existing Kirkdale and to lesser extent Sandhills stations are just as close as the line on Utting Ave.
They are half an hour away walking though narrow streets. Utting Rd station would be max 20 minutes away and there's enough space for a wide walking path down to Anfield down Utting and through Stanley Park.
@undercoveraca Just don't see a rail link getting funding and trackless trams Steve Rotherham is advocating are glorified buses no better than the Soccerbus.
