A down right cruddy day. Cold, windy, rainy and up high. Not a whole lot of video as it was just to wet. But gorgeous what did get shown.

Great advice, from a solo hiker. Sometimes I get concerned about the trail. Water, weather not seeing someone for hours. Crap happens, carry survival gear.

That's crazy how winter is already settling in in the Whites, especially Mt. Washington! No need to apologize for anything, Fortune. I'm just grateful to you for you sharing your AT journey with the world.
I climbed Mt. Washington on a weekend backpacking trip back in the late '80s. I went around the same time of year you did (end of August) and was surprised how cold it was once you got past treeline. Fortunately the weather was clear but we were woefully underprepared, started heading back down in late afternoon and did not have headlamps or flashlights. We had to hike down in the dark! It could have been really bad, we were very lucky. But it was still a great experience. Your advice about knowing what you're doing is so important.
