    I personally prefer the look of silver without dipping, dipping it makes it look darker. I much prefer having to polish it and keeping that natural silver look

    I have a 10mm 24” rhodium dipped chain and a 10mm 7.5” rhodium dipped bracelet both from GVJ. They’re absolutely worth it 👌🏻 Gus is the real deal. And his customer service, craftsmanship, and timeliness are second to none.

    Between ypu and Cubs Knoes, I've gotten an incredible amount of education in the past week.
    TBH I don't think yellow gold looks good on me. And I would never buy something that is gold plated.
    But you're honest reviews of other Jewelers products has been invaluable!
    If I want an old man on a fixed income living in the projects in inner city Portland Oregon, I'd invest in a fat handmade white gold Cuban link in at leadt 8 mm & 26" long.
    I'm nearly blind and can't even really appreciate the facial reactions of other people who will be looking at my jewelry. So my goal is to get a piece that I can glance down at my chest and admire for myself.
    I judt adore longer firey or icy chains!
    But I have a burning question that I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. What does a 26" to 28 chain with substantial girth look like on a guy who's about 5'7" 175 lb? Since my interest in having the jewelry is to be able to admire it for myself as in rockin it, i need to see about where it would rest.
    I can't find videos of people rockin anything longer than 26" unless they have a pendant.
    I know you're a real busy man. But do you thinlk you could baby find a picture of a video of a guy wearing a long thick chain?
    Thankman!

      no, get the chemicals ignore that guy. get wrights silver cream, you can remove tarnish and polish it at the same time. best of both worlds. make sure you get the round one, it comes with a nice little magic eraser. trust me bro, this is the way to go, been polishing jewelry for over 20 years. tarn-x is great for quickie, takes seconds if your piece is still fairly new. but it doesn't really polish it like wrights. i only use tarn-x for high tarnished pieces. tarn-x is NOT good for you bro, wrights silver cream is fairly mild.

    Ok.. so I’m thinking about getting a 10mm 24” silver cuban… I’ve been shopping. Because I shop the shit out of everything… I will probably wear this chain a lot .. the difference between the Rhodium and non Rhodium is $300 extra .. so if I go non Rhodium and use a ultrasonic cleaner.. I should be able to clean the chain whenever it gets dirty without damaging it… right?!
    I only have one chain ( figaro link 14k 22”) that I have had since I was 16 and never comes off. But I have always wanted a cuban.
    Thanks for any advice you have.
    I really want a 8mm 14k 22” ( but can’t afford that right now) maybe someday 🤷‍♂️

      Gus is informative, but he forgot one of the biggest cons, Rhodium can last you anywhere from 3 months to a year before it needs to be replaced. That's a "convenient" con he forgot about, and shouldn't he mention this? Or he is trying to sell more expensive jewelry? This alone makes me like him a little bit less here. And like you said, it literally looks like stainless, sterling silver is so beautiful, leave it alone people! You can remove tarnish easily with wrights silver cream and polish it at the same time in less than one minute. If you see black/brown spots on your silver, a lot of people get all upset and think tarnish is ever-lasting, it's easily removable, that is a beautiful thing for me to see.

      To be fair lots of people are weird and wanna rock stuff that looks like white gold for cheap. Natural silver does look better tho, tarnished black or polished. I always question if I got ripped off with steel if I order a silver piece and it comes plated

    • @vision821k4
      @vision821k4 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I disagree, Rhodium outshines stainless steel, there not even comparable for people who are really into this stuff. Like...at all. I still agree natural silver is the better way to go, you can easily remove the tarnish. And yes it does look somewhat like steel color-wise, but not the way it shines, a rhodium piece can be extremely beautiful and sparkle a way natural silver can not.

    • @matthewdavis9437
      @matthewdavis9437 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@vision821k4 They are very comparable to people with proper vision. Sorry, your elitist-slanted reply is gonna get you nowhere.
      Rhodium factually does not shine brighter than silver as silver reflects more light. Do more research.
      Stainless steel when also mirror polished is at best only 4% less light reflected. Something you're unlikely to even perceive unless under specific lighting conditions and side by side.
      Given a 74% figure for rhodium, it is just factually far duller than silver which reflects 95-99% of visible light.
      Silver is, in fact, the shiniest metal (and unless you want to tone down the bright shine, plating it is objectively bad).

    • @vision821k4
      @vision821k4 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@matthewdavis9437 Wrong. Rhodium has a reflectivity of 70 percent, sterling silver has a 40 percent reflectivity.
      Where did this 95-99 percent claim come from? Evidence? You know, the evidence you don't have because it doesn't exist HAHAHA. You don't have proper vision or education since anyone not even an expert but a love for jewelry knows this. And if you were capable of reading, why call me an elitist when I said I like natural sterling silver more? Did you miss that part dummy?
