Paul Smith and Dave Costa at the DTs, and Rick Jackson and Pete Duranko at the DEs. That was a stout defensive front right there.

Rich JACKSON was as good of a d-end as any that would ever be found not only in the AFL back then, but in that era of pro football.
And, to think, that the Raiders cut him and that he was undrafted..
Except for injury, he is in the PRO FTBALL. HALL OF FAME.
The late sportswriter/ESPN DRAFT COMMENTATOR PAUL ZIMMERMAN was his biggest P.R. champion, essentially saying RICH J. was the GREATEST D-END that he had watched, and ZIM knew because PAUL Z. covered both leagues.

    That D line was awesome!

D-LINE was as good as there was in pro football, with other than Billy Thompson, not much else on D to go with it. John Huard was a decent lbacker, but no Gradishar or Jackson..

Though the 1968 Denver Broncos would not produce a winning record under Lou Saban, there was stilll a lot to like. The team's home, which had been originally known as Bears Stadium, for their longtime minor league baseball team, would be renamed Mile High Stadium.
The team had new unis, with the helmet design of a snorting bronco
inside the "D"; this would be the team's best uniform until 1996.
Also this was the promising rookie season of quarterback of Marlin
Briscoe, the first black to start fulltime.

The best things about the 1967-1971 Denver Broncos were RB Floyd Little and DE Rich "Tombstone" Jackson

He was Otto Graham for Lou Saban. But Saban was ignorant.

Only the helmet logo was new. They switched unis vis-a-vis the jerseys and pants in 1967, wearing no logo on their helmets that season. Outside of Cleveland and one side of Steelers' helmets and if you want to call stripes stripes rather than logos for Cincy, Denver's 67 season was the last time a pro team(again, outside of Cleve.) wore no semblance of a logo on its helmets, other than NFL OR AFL "throwback" helmets. Denver changed their helmets to lighter Royal blue from orange in that '67 season, too.
Went to orange roadpants that season, too.

Briscoe shoplifted an album and was busted that season or 69 year, right?

@@robertsprouse9282 Quoting the Professional Football Researchers Association: "During the week before the Cincinnati game, Marlin and a teammate stopped at a department store to purchase records. Marlin purchased three albums. The cashier who sold the albums inexplicably asked for the receipts for proof of purchase. Marlin could
only find two of the receipts. The security guard interviewed Marlin and his teammate and determined that Marlin was the Denver quarterback everyone was talking about. The security guard handcuffed Marlin and walked him out of the store stating that he arrested the quarterback of the Broncos. That night Cousin Bob Rose and an attorney got Marlin
out of jail. Later that evening Marlin found the third receipt. Marlin was cleared. " www.profootballresearchers.org/biography/Briscoe_Marlin.pdf

Briscoe had more rookie TD passes than John Elway

What could have been had Marlin Briscoe played QB for the last 11 games?
