PSA: you can remove the lumbar support (2 screws at the bottom of the support pillow 'arms') to greatly improve its comfort. I had the same issue as you and removing the support was game changer.
Went to my local staples to find a chair I liked, this was the only one that fit me but it like really fit me perfectly. Price was 299 at the store so I cut it out as an option cuz my budget was 150, turns out they're only 109 online. Just ordered one tonight :)
Sit in these chairs (Dexley/ Hyken) as I feel the Hyken is much smaller than the Dexley. I bought the Dexley today (01/24) simply because it held my frame very well at 6’ 210lbs. The lumbar’s adjustment sits right in the in the middle of my back which fits perfect when adjusted. Just the right amount of curvature needed for my posture. The head rest is also great. I got it on sale so for the price I think it’s a great chair.
I just bought it. It is very comfortable and seat angle is perfect. I love putting my leg on my desk while watching video. The back panel doesn’t occupy too much seat depth which gives my butt more space and support when i slide my butt forward😂
Leg going numb is chair design issue. Aeron classic had the same problem for some with cushion under the seat edge. TBH, this looks way better than hyken with its cheap crap mesh.
yeah its weird, in the store i had no issue after 5 or so minutes of people staring at me sitting in their chair LOL but after a couple days at home it was noticeable right away how far it sticks out
I went back to using my gaming chair which has a lot of good features but the cushion is too hard. And my parents gave me an old chair that i replaced the gas cylinder on, but i'm not even sure what the brand is LOL (looks sort of like tempurpedic, no label but it has a lot of adjustments). I'm also waiting to see what chair a company is sending over for review later this month to see if i like it, otherwise, the search continues.
I'm your size and after two years, the piston worked its way through the base and cracked it and then the piston got jammed. But on the bright side they did send me a piston and base and I got it in a few days, but had to yank the piston out with a sledgehammer and pipe wrench lol.
Also, the back and headrest aren't really usable while working. Even with everything tensioned up and locked down there is too much slop to be used, it is comfortable while on a call, using a controller or while watching something, but for sit up work with a keyboard it might as well not exist.
ive had this chair for 3 years! i love it! you just need to find the right spot for the support and trust me its a good quality chair for the price!
nice! yeah I'm realizing office chairs are like shoes, seems to fit everyone different
Thank you for all the tips on adjusting the chair. If I hadn't watched this video I would have been at the mercy of how it came out of the box. 🤣😂

I ordered two of these chairs. They are coming tomorrow and you scared me on the lumbar support part. Hopefully it’s not a problem for me.

Yes I think you would probably be fine

Who is the first guy who bought a chair with these baby arms? Why did he do it? Why did he spoil it for the rest of us?
