Another thing about the 80's Kleenex commercial, is that if you watch it at anytime, it seems regular, but if you watch it at midnight, it gets really weird, distorted, and downright freaky. I can confirm this as I have done it myself, and it really is super strange.
To add to the list of things to avoid researching (at the cost of sanity), PHOBIAs. In general, most people don't share the same fears of the more obscure stuff, but you can easily acquire an extra aversion just by discovering what it's referring to.

The vet told me to just use a cloth to clean the area until they could examine it the next day. I did not expect a maggot to come out (the vet made sure there weren't any more.) Needless to say, I did not make rice or pasta for dinner for a few weeks afterward.
Omg, thanks to maggots and something disgusting I saw once (a giant smashed spider!) I can never ever eat rice or Raman noodles! As a kid (and sometimes to this day), I can't do spaghetti because it just reminds me of worms 😭
I just have to say, I think we ALL know that one in the #1 spot... "Never Google symptoms". I have some bizarre condition (at this point, I'm quite certain it's some sort of autoimmune disease. Just have to find the right doc & go down a long Rd of specialists). Anyway, in the beginning I was going to the ER constantly! *Trust me, the symptoms warranted those visits!!!* Sadly an ER was just not the right place to go. They kept wanting to chalk up these outrageous things to "anxiety"... Sure there was a tremor, but muscle spasms all over body, nonstop, in the same way an electrical lightening storm would be? Inability to even WALK on 2 separate occasions?! Suffice it to say, I was urged to see a psychiatrist. So I did. While certain meds have helped with just a couple of the symptoms I still continue to have, things have only worsened further and further. I told the psych that whatever this is, it's something of a neurological ailment that's simply causing the psychological issues. Not just simple "severe anxiety", fresh out of nowhere. After being checked ONLY for MS, specifically, the psych told me "you absolutely CANNOT Google your symptoms! It's all going to lead to unrealistic answers & severe panic! You have to go to a family Dr!" .... Boy was he right bc I had a list of potential things this "could be". So yep, definitely never ever Google symptoms!

If you do a part 3 I would suggest adding man-of-war jellyfish also known as blue bottles to the list of things you should never google. They are creepy

I watched that Kleenex commercial several times and while it wasn't for everyone I've heard allot worse. As for the child he was just a kid colored purple with some kind of horn on his head. I think to much was made of it and I am sorry about those that died, but people do die after all.
Dust mites are doing a good job for the sleeper's and everyone else's environment, cleaning up dandruff and other debris from pillows and sheets. They're doing a necessary job we can't do for ourselves. Calling them names is unfair anc ungrateful in the extreme.
My allergy to dust mites is really severe. We had to tear up the carpet and put in wood flooring and our furniture cannot have normal fabric - it has to be some sort of smooth material like leather (fake leather for us cheapies lol) that the mites can't really get into. My doc insists that I carry an epi-pen. They do a necessary job but if they gang up they could possibly kill me.
