    I live in the United States and I am very excited for this park. I would love to visit other parks from Disney and Universal that are in other countries, but I am too scared about the language barriers, as I don't know how to speak any other language. At least with a new park in Great Britain, I should be able to travel there and feel more comfortable about communicating with others. I have always wanted to go to Great Britain anyway, hopefully I can afford it by 2030! 😁

    • @AilithsTeddyBear
      @AilithsTeddyBear 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      If you're worried about language barriers the first thing to drop is referring to here as "Great Britain". No one here calls it that, it's England! If you're going to Scotland or Wales they're called that too. No English person where this park will hopefully be built calls this country Great Britain... Ever.

      Disneyland Paris is great, and everyone there speaks English. I've even been to a theme park in Hong Kong and again it's absolutely fine 🙂
      Wherever you go in the world, people speak English, as it's a universal language that most countries are expected to learn in school. Certainly in Europe and Asia it is widely spoken, because there are many connected countries with different languages.
      Lastly, please forgive the pessimists above, you're more than welcome to call it Great Britain. It's how it's known throughout the world... I think it's only these two that actually care 😅

    • @AilithsTeddyBear
      @AilithsTeddyBear 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Richievaillant I'm not being pessimistic you dimwit, I'm saying no one who lives here calls it that because we don't. If you live here and you're asked where you're from you'd say "England, Wales or Scotland" and don't try and say you wouldn't or don't

    • @J-Vasa
      @J-Vasa 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, paris is good for speaking english. Even the rides and shows are in both french and english. Like the castle show will have characters speak to each other in both languages and it makes sense because you can tell from the english reply what the french said.
      I have heard china and hong kong and tokyo aren’t the best for this, so i would download google translate. That app is magical. You can even point your camera at words from a different language and it just shows you the english in its place

If you look at how much space is used for temporary construction, that space is clearly big enough for another park and there is still a lot of space around which universal could potentially buy on top of it for a waterpark or something similar

    One thing I’m nervous about is not the park itself, but the guests. If you’ve been to Alton towers and Thorpe park then you know how us brits like to treat anything new and clean. You can’t find a foot of space that doesn’t have someone’s name carved into it. Universal and Disney do such a great job in keeping their parks clean and updated. I just hope the same for this park. Although don’t know how you would combat this destructible impulse we brits seem to have. This is coming from a 24 year old too, so I’m aware of how my generation/ younger guys can be.

    The property is 480 acres in total…
    That’s only slightly smaller than the entire Disneyland Resort complex.
    And your example with the Forbidden Journey show buildings… kinda makes me think of a way to make this work even better… you can make more space by forgoing external theming… by theming the park to a working movie studio, with the exposed show buildings simply being themed as soundstages.
    This plays up to it being “universal studios”… and would allow more attractions to operate regardless of weather.
    I had the idea for a Marvel Park here in NYC built on top of a passenger train storage yard that worked along the same lines. External space for people to walk around, but everything important inside.

    They are gonna have to spend millions sorting the land and get rid of the years of contamination to bring it up to a standard to build on it.
    This is why yhe land was sold as it was meant for houses but was to costly.
    You also have a massive concrete works, tma land fill site next door, large incinerator and gypsy site.

    I work in minerals and waste planning. The site area is in fact very small. I've granted planning permission for sites much, much larger than that.

      The pink area is designated for car parking for now, it may change as they sort through the planning.

      Yeah everything looks small from above. Even if you look at Bioreconstruct’s photos things look small until you see a person next to it something that provides a good scale to accurately measure from.

      I'm a local resident from Wootton and everyone I've spoken to in the local area is in favour of the park. Over the last couple of years there's been quite a lot of house and especially warehouses built (other side of a421 foe example) people are pretty sick of this and the idea of something different that will massively benefit the area in terms of jobs and infrastructure is actually really attractive. Of course there will be some locals that aren't happy but I can't see local objections as being a reason for the park not to go ahead.
