This movie was so important to a lot of kids in the 80s. It was the first movie about teenagers that didn't just deal with partying or trying to get laid.
That's not true. MY BODYGUARD and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH preceded it.
It's great how you put in the parody scene from Not Another Teen Movie. When you started cracking up at that scene. I had a feeling you were thinking about Not Another Teen Movie. They recreated that scene from the Breakfast Club so good! Absolutely hilarious!
This movie is a classic. This started Judd Nelson and Emilio Estevez's careers.
@@Bronxkid238 I believe Emilio Estevez was already famous. It definately launched Judd Nelson's career in '85.
There are abusive teachers, and they exist today. Judd Nelson was in his early 20's when he starred in "The Breakfast Club." Sometimes casting directors will cast older actors to play teens due to level of adult content involved that a 16 or 17 year old may be prohibited from doing. There is a child actor legal document in Hollywood stating what is and is not allowed in film or TV.
Sorry I meant blatantly abusive. I know they still exist of course but not as openly. I understand why they choose young adults to play teens I just thought he didn’t really have the look of a teen lol 😂… minor complaint honestly. It was still a good flick
Everybody got bullied in the 80’s as I remember even teachers.
Also the kids under 18 can only work eight hours and have to have a tutor when they're not on set.
Molly and Anthony were 17.
Ally and Emilio were 23.
Judd was 24 or 25.
The food wasn't moldy. That's pimento loaf.
80s & 90s Movie's Are The Best 💯 Period,R.I.P To A Great Director John Hughes, Still Miss You Always 😢 & Great Reaction To This Great Classic Movie Sweetheart
Planes trains and automobiles and Ferris Bueller’s day off are other great John Hughes movies.
when she was at BU AOC did a school spirit video takeoff on the dance scene that went viral.
Thank you for your great reaction! Your commentary is very funny & witty!! Can you please react to Tarantinos first film “Resevior Dogs”. I think you would have a blast with it. Shout out from NYC!! Keep doing your thing!!
If you want to watch a classic movie with a lot of Top A list movie stars is Outsiders from 1983 good reaction. Back in the day at movie's the cost was only 99 cents and now days you can buy a cheap meal at a local fast food joint so keep those movies coming with great reactions ad enjoy your day and fill them with memories as you make them your own.
School in the '80s was really not far off what you see here. This may be a slight exaggeration, or a compression of a month's worth of horrible in a single day, but the abuse isn't fabricated out of thin air.
1. The woman and little girl dropping of Brian are Anthony Michael Hall's real mother and sister.
2. The late Paul Gleason😇 played Beeks in "Trading Places". Also, the idiot assistant police chief in "Die Hard".
3. "Ya got fifty bucks?" was supposed to be twenty. The look on Paul's face was genuine.
4. That's not Molly's crotch, she was a minor.
5. I still use the term "doobage".😎
6. Even John Hughes😇 said the shattering window was a huge reach.
7. That's not dandruff, it's parmesan cheese.
8. I love Ally Sheedy. Personally, I liked her better GOTH.😍😋
9. If you catch it Andrew's dad is scoping out Allison as he's picking up Andrew.
10. John Hughes is picking up Brian.
11. Hughes used this school in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Uncle Buck".
Uncle Buck is on my list, now I’m gonna look for the school 😂 thanks
Are you medically frigid, or is it psychological? Great line . I was 10 when this came out and we watched it a lot in the 80s. Thanks for sharing.
I’m gonna need milk with captain crunch…
He wasn't an abusive teacher, he was the vice principal. And it's not abuse, students used to understand that teachers were authority figures. Now, students don't have fear or respect for anyone in authority, from school to businesses. It's certainly played more broadly in the film, though. The character is meant to be a petty guy, drunk on his own power, exaggerated for effect, and of course...to flatter teenagers a little bit too. John Hughes did that, and that's why the movies were successful. He made teenagers more thoughtful and empathetic than the adults. Of course, by 1989, he sided with the adults in UNCLE BUCK, so it came full circle.
Lol the part in the closet is pretty questionable. That’s cool about Uncle Buck though, and good to know since it’s the next movie on my list.
STFU. Assault ain’t cool no matter how tough you think you were/ are
