Most profound and meaningful episode of Black Mirror ever (won't ever be topped, imo), and one of the best hours of television I've ever witnessed. I'm only 46 years old, but I'm on my way out the door (5-8 years left), I grew up in the 80's, and this really hit me hard. Very hard. Oh, how I wish heaven could be a place on Earth. It breaks me in two that San Junipero isn't real. Where am I going? No where, I guess. It hurts to watch this.
This episode is fantastic and deserves awards I think but it by far is not the most profound or meaningful episode in black mirror, by far. Perhaps watch 15 million merits or several others
I was a FUCKING wreck when it all came together. It WASN'T a sad cry, it was a happy cry for sure. My face hurts from all if that crying I did in THAT episode.
I'd like to add that, apart from the thematic impact of this story, the delivery was impeccable. That final montage during the credits is so perfect. Those final images at TCKR (Tucker's) Systems was directing genius - the music, the imagery, the swing of the camera transitioning from the "crypt" to San Junipero.... just genius. Somehow I imagine Belinda Carlisle watching this and her head just exploding at how her one #1 hit just hit #1 again in the hearts of so many watching.
I really liked your reaction! I'm in love with this episode! I saw that you were confused about why Kelly decided to crash her car. She did that 'cause she wanted to see if she could feel some pain in that "virtual reality", she wanted to feel something real, to know that it was possible to feel something in that place.
I find it really interesting how much this episode is resonating with the LGBT community, it's awesome! You should check out some of the other episodes, they are pretty insane!!
Great reaction! Just a note: You may have missed a line of dialogue, Greg mentioned how he can communicate with Yorkie through a "comm box" presumably some form of futuristic tech that allows you communicate with the comatose or people who are fully paralyzed. Which is how she can consent to the wedding.
I was soooo waiting for your reaction when they reveal Kelly and Yorkie as elderly women. From that moment I couldn't stop crying, it was soo beautiful. Who would have thought that at the beginning of 2016 and level of mourning the fandom had to go through, that #Wayhaught, #Carmilla season 3/movie reveal and this San Junipero episode with Kelly and Yorkie would be our saving grace.
KayBassie same i have rewatched the show 4 times and i thought watching moog's react video would be a breeze. nope i cried at the end credits again, such a beautiful journey
blammer I'm actually re-watching the episode now, couldn't help it, need the feels, plus all those fan made videos on TH-cam with Yorkie and Kelly..I cant even. I'm officially obsessed with this episode, it now joins the list of tv/films (Titanic, King of Queens, Carol) that I will forever rewatch until I pass over :-)
Agree. They're either super depressing (shut up and dance, white bear, white christmas, playtest, fifteen million merites) , or have a bittersweet ending (Nosedive, Hated by the Nation, Be right back) , this episode is the only exception .
I felt a bit bad for Nerdy Video Game Guy. I would totally play Pac Man and the car crash game with him. Although I suppose he has all eternity to work on his game and get his groove on.
Can we please be friends? We literally had the same reactions and I could not stop geeking out over the cinematography (film grad)!!! 😁😆 I can't stop re-watching!
Nope - you DON'T need to watch previous Black Mirrors to understand San Junipero ....but you DO need to watch San Junipero, guy. (and maybe lose the Sharon Bell fixation?)
Waffle Joe .... yes If a bisexual man and a bisexual woman are in a relationship the relationship isn't called bisexual it's called heterosexual because it's a man and a woman.
Waffle Joe right so I went and took to tumblr for this because I felt like I should give you the benefit of the doubt and I'd like to apologize and retract my previous statements of calling Kelly and Yorkie a lesbian relationship. Someone explained it as "it’s not lesbian rep if she’s with a woman or man. bi rep is bi rep. It’s not lesbian rep. Maybe wlw rep, sure. But it’s bisexual representation. Even if she’s with a woman, she is bi, and her woman partner is whatever she labels herself as. and to simply label relationships as homosexual or heterosexual feels exclusionary to those who don’t fall under the unfortunately black and white labeled sex" and that got through to me! I usually get one belief in my head and refuse to accept anything else but I'm trying to be more open minded about things. So sorry for referring to them incorrectly in the video, I'll make an annotation correcting myself but that's all I can do about it now.

Hey I'm around your age and grew up with all this music, and this episode hit me like a hammer. :)

thanks for pointing this out!
And via san junipero, like, they literally go there for a minute to propose.
my two favorite episodes are this and 15M merits. This one is really nice because it isn't cynical.

Just one thing... The other Black Mirror episodes are SUPER dark and depressing
BinaryDood Yes this episode is pretty much the polar opposite of every other episode in this series

@@nrc3688 Every EP have twists, this twist here is it is a good ending =)
I'm glad you believed you wouldn't cry as you chanted it😂😂
San Junipero. That's where Lexa is.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought Mackenzie looked like Sharon lol
even just a clip of this episode makes me cry
I felt a bit bad for Nerdy Video Game Guy. I would totally play Pac Man and the car crash game with him. Although I suppose he has all eternity to work on his game and get his groove on.
To me she looked like Gigi gorgeous with minimal makeup.
When she comes around the corner at her house you just wanna scream "yesss!!!!!!!!!"
you're just as adorable as Yorkie I love your reaction you're the sweetest thing ever!
artisticboricua 💚💚
I teared up too, not gonna lie. Great reaction.

2086jebbro yeeeees!!! I notice it all the time now and I'm a newbie film student
That's awesome! Soak up as much as you can and start building contacts/mentors as soon as possible! :)
I love your reaction, mine was almost the same. :) thanks for sharing

(and maybe lose the Sharon Bell fixation?)
"Happy lesbians for eternity" Kelly is bi lol.
Waffle Joe I clearly react to her bisexuality. Doesn't make the relationship any less lesbian. No such thing as a bisexual relationship.
Moog Ferlita so if a bisexual woman is with a straight man it's hetero? Ok.
Waffle Joe .... yes
If a bisexual man and a bisexual woman are in a relationship the relationship isn't called bisexual it's called heterosexual because it's a man and a woman.
Moog Ferlita who are you to say it's a lesbian relationship. You aren't a wlw & you're always invading our spaces.
