I did an IA tour in Ramadi 2009-2010 with Commander (his rank at the time) Davids. He was my CO for that deployment. By a clear margin I would say he is the most inspirational person I spent time around during my 8 years of service. It’s cool to randomly come across a video with him in it

Mr. Davids. From UK, London - it is inspiring to hear and see a gentleman with such physical gain, compassion and love for humanity and his spirituality.
God bless you all that keep your charm, charisma and faith and most importantly loyalty which is sadly lost in today's people.
Keep on inspiring! Best Regards. Rob

I was Keith's Platoon Chief in Echo Platoon, SEAL Team TWO when he was a LT. Best Officer I ever served with.
As a Commander, Keith I'm very sure is the finest CO in SPECWAR. As far as Gun Slinging, even as a CO Keith grabs a weapon with the boys as often as he can.
A "Poster Child" for SEAL Officers, he leads from the front...

I've always believed that if it's phisically possible, I can do anything. I'm limited only by my imagination. I sing opera at a world level. I'm sure that my experience with many, many sports throughout my life has played a valuable part- seening that my body is my instrument.

By the way, the helicopter used here is called a "Huey", which was used during Vietnam.

Shits hard, they make it look easy, but I've been through several simulated courses, and its hard to keep up, whether its crossing a rope bridge, or flipping the logs (probably the most energy draining and mentally challenging thing seen here), and especially the excercise at 1:08
    SEALS are no joke.

@doublebarrel45 I'm in a similar boat and just to let you know, if you drop out of buds, you can't shoot for an EOD slot. You have to wait the two years, get permission from your current command and then choose to try buds again or EOD. And I was also told that the panel that chooses EOD candidates doesn't like to accept buds drop outs (for whatever reason that is).

@Frances, know it alls generally can't validate themselves using the question format. if you knew anything why are you asking and then ending your questionaire with a matter of fact statement? Vietnam: The North Vietcong waged a war against the South Viets while we had small forces there prior to the war training the Southern Viets to defend themselves, however the North attacked prior to the Souths ability to defend themselves, so we, sent aid and troops.

@MrmeetyourmakerPhD - Actually a lot of SEALs go into training with swimming problems (however those are the ones that usually don't make it), just definitely learn to swim and that you're comfortable in the water before you think about heading into BUD/S. Remember though, the percentile of passing graduates is around 30%..

  • @milkduds1001

(Continued) Hybrid warfare is where you use both conventional and unconventional tactics. You use units like SEALs and Delta to do stealth missions to provide Recon or weaken the enemy than you hit them with your massive force, like the Marines or Rangers. Not to mention casualties in this modern age has severely went down. During WW2 a single battle could have casualties in the thousands in the first few hours. These days a single battle could have casualties in the hundreds all week.

Very valid point, after all there are literally thousands of leaders in this country. You have the top politicians like the president, senate etc, regional representatives like state Governor's and mayors etc. The gun law for example, over 20 states have claimed that if Obama passes it they will make a new law that will make it illegal for the police force to enforce it. Whether you think gun control is good or bad is your opinion, but it is impossible for all the thousands of men to be corrupt.

and I am not sure, as a seal you are a more lethal weapon, but as eod you at least learn to a proficient level most seal skills plus all of the eod tricks. And if you get assigned to NSW team your most likely going to receive more training or preparation in those more offensive based skills. I think being EOD would be awesome, but I'm not sure if later on I would be thinking I took the easy way out... (even though EOD is hardcore)...
