I'm 14 and I've been addicted to PMO for 6 years! I can't believe it but it's true. And many times I thought, "If only i had a chance to talk to my younger self and warn them about the crap i was getting into." Luckily, after hearing this, I know it was all part of the plan. I had to go through that addiction to be the one i am to day and the one God has made me to be. I am not going to waste time regretting the years I wasted but rather look ahead at the life God has planned for me. No matter what you've gone through, just remember Christ was there with you and is still here and He's ready to go ahead with you. So don't waste time thinking about the past. Just keep looking to Christ and He'll make you better. Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? So glad I didn’t die when I attempted suicide when I was 17 /18 because I came to know Jesus a year later and it’s still the best thing that happened to me . Even though life is crap sometimes the worst day with Jesus is better than my best day without.

I was abused by a church member when I was three. I buried the memory. Then as a teenager I was the fat nerd who would never stick up for myself. I have been in fear all my life, I never knew the love of God. Then about 3 years ago my wife talked me into church. One the way home I heard this song. We saw you guys last year in Ontario, California. I cried all through this song. Thank you for letting us all know. That is was not our fault, and reminding us that we are "free indeed".

I love this song. It does remind me of my past life that all the stupid things I did, all the sinful crap I did. Now that I'm older and realize some of the things that I did in the past, I wish I had not done. I heard this song for the first time today. It made me think of when I was a teenager starting high school and I was going through a rough time after my parents divorced. I shut everyone out, I didn't want to talk about my feelings, and I was a shy sad kid. Till this day I'm just really thankful that Yahweh got me through those rough times If I could talk to my younger self I would tell him everything is gonna be alright, say a prayer every day and night, and your gonna make it through this. Then I would give my younger self a hug. Thank you Yahweh for making me the man that I am now and blessing me.

Thinking of all those sad, horrible memories that I made when I was younger…the letter is stained with tons of tears. But it was nice. I confronted a lot of stuff that I hadn’t thought about in years. And even made me remember things that I had a buried deep inside of me. I ended up sleeping with my best friend who was lying and manipulating me at the age of 13. I just wish that I could learn to forgive myself for all of the wrong I did, but this song is helping me learn that God is on my side.

I just wanted you guys to know that this is my favorite song you all sing though I love so many of your songs but when this song comes on I get so happy because when this song first came out God had me start a very unique way to set me free from all my bondages using the inner child work to restructure the foundational years (childhood) of my life. There was so much I never received that was so vital for me to have a life God intended for me to have. Such as love, nurture, protection and care. I was surrounded by so much chaos and abandonment and rejection in many forms. Little did I know why my life was such a mess and nothing I did would work. I never escaped to drugs and alcohol but I did have all their underlining issues. I had a lot of problems with my emotions, toxic relationship cycles, fears, depression, social phobias and anxieties. I was a mess indeed. It wasn't until my 2nd marriage was coming to end my world as I knew it came crushing down and I became so desperate for help. God lead me into a 30 day program out- of- state which made no sense of why He was taking me on this route. God told me at the beginning of working my program that He was going to use me to restructure things in the church and help 1,000's of people. I didn't know how I was going to do this but I proceeded on my new journey. Many years later it happened in a way I never could imagine. I asked God for help because I gained more insight about my problems I realized so many believers were trapped in it and didn't even know it!!! So one day God had me to reach out to Pastor Steven Furtick to give him the message. He wasted no time to deal with it and to help the Body of Christ!! I never told Pastor Furtick the process that God used to help me to see what was causing people to remain in bondage. Until Pastor preached a sermon about Peter resurrecting Dorcus. Pastor said I don't know who this is for but Dorcus means Tabatha which means Little girl! I was shocked oh my goodness I said that has to be for me!!!!!! And it was!!! A few weeks later God put it on my heart to inform Pastor Furtick that it was me!!!! He realized I was also the one who gave the message many months before. Then came the sermon "Take the Lid off of a Little." Im sorry it took me so long to let you guys know how your song made such an impact in my life and around the world!!! God put it on my heart to finally let you know how it helped me! And to that I am THANKFUL!!!!!! Bart I saw your movie and read your book to. I was abused by a church member when I was three. I buried the memory. Then as a teenager I was the fat nerd who would never stick up for myself. I have been in fear all my life, I never knew the love of God. Then about 3 years ago my wife talked me into church. One the way home I heard this song. We saw you guys last year in Ontario, California. I cried all through this song. Thank you for letting us all know. That is was not our fault, and reminding us that we are "free indeed".
I am sorry for your past pain, I too suffered from sexual abuse, God gave me many second chances. May God soften our hearts to the point where we no longer will need a second chance. I pray all Christians endure until the end. I pray that the whole world be given new hearts by Jesus Christ!

I love this song. It does remind me of my past life that all the stupid things I did, all the sinful crap I did. Now that I'm older and realize some of the things that I did in the past, I wish I had not done. Thank the Lord that he Sovereign, He is just and loving and He is helping me in my present life in Christ Jesus.

I heard this song for the first time today. It made me think of when I was a teenager starting high school and I was going through a rough time after my parents divorced. I shut everyone out, I didn't want to talk about my feelings, and I was a shy sad kid. Till this day I'm just really thankful that Yahweh got me through those rough times If I could talk to my younger self I would tell him everything is gonna be alright, say a prayer every day and night, and your gonna make it through this. Then I would give my younger self a hug. Thank you Yahweh for making me the man that I am now and blessing me.

What do I do? I've made mistakes that have marked my life. I've tried to change but I come out worse. I'm glad you were able to have innocence and joy back then. I would not change a thing, growing up is hard. Realizing the heartache, the pain, the loss, and the betrayals, I'm glad you were free of that. Cherish that. Because I miss it.

I wrote a letter to younger me while listening to this song. I was crying the whole time. Thinking of all those sad, horrible memories that I made when I was younger…the letter is stained with tons of tears. But it was nice. I confronted a lot of stuff that I hadn’t thought about in years. And even made me remember things that I had a buried deep inside of me. This song is definitely one of my favorite songs ever and it’s my favorite MercyMe song. I relate to it so much. It’s such a beautiful and simple song.

I remember when I first herd this song. They had always played it right after church service. it took me a while to find it and when I did, the lyrics connected to me on a spiritual level. I am dealing with allot of past regret and mistakes, sometimes I wish I could go back in time and do it all over again to avoid meeting the people that caused me to have allot of pain. back then I wasn't Christian I was faking it to please my mom who was verry spiritual. I ended up sleeping with my best friend who was lying and manipulating me at the age of 13. I just wish that I could learn to forgive myself for all of the wrong I did, but this song is helping me learn that God is on my side.

Chase Peters why do some people have to see something good when they get old? I'm brokenhearted beyond words can express. You just don't know how hurt I'm am everyday. I have been reading my bible daily and praying strongly seeking Jesus deeply & i am still hurt. I don't give up praying. I trust Jesus forever and have faith. I just wanted you guys to know that this is my favorite song you all sing though I love so many of your songs but when this song comes on I get so happy because when this song first came out God had me start a very unique way to set me free from all my bondages using the inner child work to restructure the foundational years (childhood) of my life. There was so much I never received that was so vital for me to have a life God intended for me to have. Such as love, nurture, protection and care. I was surrounded by so much chaos and abandonment and rejection in many forms. Little did I know why my life was such a mess and nothing I did would work. I never escaped to drugs and alcohol but I did have all their underlining issues. I had a lot of problems with my emotions, toxic relationship cycles, fears, depression, social phobias and anxieties. I was a mess indeed. It wasn't until my 2nd marriage was coming to end my world as I knew it came crushing down and I became so desperate for help. God lead me into a 30 day program out- of- state which made no sense of why He was taking me on this route. God told me at the beginning of working my program that He was going to use me to restructure things in the church and help 1,000's of people. I didn't know how I was going to do this but I proceeded on my new journey. Many years later it happened in a way I never could imagine. I asked God for help because I gained more insight about my problems I realized so many believers were trapped in it and didn't even know it!!! So one day God had me to reach out to Pastor Steven Furtick to give him the message. He wasted no time to deal with it and to help the Body of Christ!! I never told Pastor Furtick the process that God used to help me to see what was causing people to remain in bondage. Until Pastor preached a sermon about Peter resurrecting Dorcus. Pastor said I don't know who this is for but Dorcus means Tabatha which means Little girl! I was shocked oh my goodness I said that has to be for me!!!!!! And it was!!! A few weeks later God put it on my heart to inform Pastor Furtick that it was me!!!! He realized I was also the one who gave the message many months before. Then came the sermon "Take the Lid off of a Little." Im sorry it took me so long to let you guys know how your song made such an impact in my life and around the world!!! God put it on my heart to finally let you know how it helped me! And to that I am THANKFUL!!!!!! Bart I saw your movie and read your book to. It was so inspiring and grateful what you wrote at the very end of your book! Thanks!! Pretty cool I live just around the corner you use to go to church in the 90's.
