- I used acrylic craft paints, a cheap airbrush and some mdf. If your good at masking you could make some really cool engravings using multiple colors.
Here is a the airbrush I used. www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQYLBR5?...

I am blown away.
what a great idea! It looks amazing! I never considered craft paint in an airbrush!! I hope you show more of your work and techniques!!
It works great Wendy! FYI: If you try it, just make sure to water down, or 'loosen', the pigment enough, so it does not clog your airbrush.
Very cool masking method clever use of colour well done
VERY GOOD! Nice Job. Keep up the Fantastic Work.😉👍
Very nice and intricate work. Amazing results.

Looks amazing!. Love that you share your techniques - I'm almost confident enough to try an engraved picture after learning from you. Thank you :)
Really nice! Thanks for sharing it with us.
That’s fantastic!!!
This is great.
Nice job.
Thanks for the time to share .
I will surely try this.
Holy cow that is cool!
Love the idea of a test grid, Great thinking, I'm going to try layering my powdercoating on metal to see if i can achieve the same results with colour fades etc.
Just Wow!
Awesome, in every way
This is cool as .......... I love it! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks for the comment.
Man the final product is stunning! Well done and subscribed.
Thanks for the compliment and for subscribing.
seriously nice !
Wow great job! Can see a lot of details. What dpi was it set to? And for the acrylic paint, did you add something before putting in the airbrush?
awesome result! thanks for sharing
Thank you
Love that jig. Do you have a video on that?
wauw amazing
Great idea and it turned out awesome. I would like to see the original picture to see how close the final product is to it.
Looks great.
Thank you
Awesome 👌
ITS AMAZING BRO !
Compliment appreciated. Thank you.
😲 wow nice
Excellent work!, I’m sorry I’m new, what compressor do you use?
nice work I had a similar idea. good to know
wow
would a diode be able to burn off the white paint?
Where did you get that image?
What compressor do you use for your airbrush?
I have been considering using an airbrush to apply paint. Do you thin the paint you use? Also I believe you said you use acrylic paints, have you tried other paint as well?
Amazing work subscribed! You got me.
Thank you.
i spray up to 4 layers of paint across the entire surface, lightest to darkest on top. then i invert the image and burn, if you get the settings right you can get all 4 colors to show at dif levels of greyscale
Do you water down the Paint? If so by how much? TFS
link to the Illustration please, it's exactly what I've been looking for!
I appreciate the detail on how you spray the MDF. The cheap tubes of paint I bought from Hobby Lobby are so thick. How do you thin your paint so it will spray properly?
I thin mine with a solution of around 35% alcohol and 65% distilled water. Mix that solution with paint until it's the consistency of milk.
Great work of art! What kind of paint are you using for the airbrush? Water base?
Acrylic paint.
What kind of air compressor do you need for the sprayer?
I was using a shop compressor which is overkill. If you look on amazon they have a lot of airbrush specific compressors but I really don't know enough to recommend which to get.
That's an amazing process. I have to learn how to do this. I like that you used stencils to paint your layers. Did you create the stencils from the photo, itself? Thanks for sharing this.
I traced around the image areas in photoshop that I wanted to mask and then saved them and made them into vectors. Then I cut them out using lightburn.
@@lasersandsaws COOL. I have been trying to do images, in Lightburn but really struggle. I did manage to a good engraving of my Grandson and his Bride's wedding photo but I still struggle. Thanks for the videos. I think watching and listening to you, I might actually be able to figure it out.
Awesome! What ratio do you use to mix the paint? And what do you mix it with to make it work with the airbrush?
I thin the paint until it's the consistency of milk. The thinner is a mix of IPA and distilled water. The mix I used is 150ml of water and 100ml IPA.
@@lasersandsawsWhat is IPA?
Isopropyl alcohol? If yes at what percentage?
Man I wish I had your talent for figuring out what colors to combine for that effect! It's totally cool! Can you share where you got graphic?
I just guessed really lol.
Graphic source?
I would say that like me, you are thinking too much about this. I bet you could grab a lot of different colors and make it look great.
Any reason not to use spray paint ?
you could totally use spray paint. I just don't like the smell and these craft paints are like 50 cents and come in every color you could think of.
I can engrave in paint without damaging the lens of my sculpfun s30 pro max
