If its handmade, you can make and sell it under your own brand. No for mass production and no for distributing patterns in any form, or making dies for sell.

Thomas: I learned a new way to saddle stitch from Eric at Corter Leather. He says it was originally called the Leap Frog Stitch. He shows the process to learn it. I used to use a stitching pony and now mine is just collecting dust. Eric's method is really fast. It automatically adjusts the tension of each stitch. It looks great. I see a lot of crafters (who don't use a pony) struggle with mid air stitching. I have been using Eric's method for over two years. I will probably never go back to the pony. You may want to check it out. Even if you never use his method.

I have tried stitching pony few times, but for me its not an option. First of all, i use quite thick thread 1mm, it has even bigger knot after the needle, so i kinda need to make an additional effort/force everytime knot should go through hole. Pony doest stay rock solid and its annoying do stitching with quite thick thread. With thinner thread 0.4-.0.6mm its ok.
Other thing i dont like about pony, is setting up the wallet multiple times during stitching and it even might leave marks on craft from clams. Im much faster & efficient without pony. But the main reason i go no pony is thick tread.
I have checked the method you said, will give a try. But i see one problem already. I use flat thread, which makes you to watch and control that thread do not twist. Eric as i see uses round thread, so its not an issue and no need to pay attention.
But overall im not advocate for stitching pony for sure ;)

@@strhandmade Actually, when he made the video, he used Ritza 25 Tiger at .6 mm. Also flat. He now uses Maine Thread with has now released a flat, braided poly thread.
