- In this video, I respectfully restore a Corgi Toys MGB GT to its original glory. I begin the restoration process by carefully removing the base plate and all components. The old paint is meticulously removed using a sand blaster, revealing a beautiful diecast casting. I diligently remove the casting lines with a metal file. After thorough preparation, I elegantly finish the car in its new color, mustard, with a black interior and new restyled wheels. I sincerely hope you enjoy the video and the final result. Thank you all for watching.

Fantastic restoration Luke! These have pretty nasty casting lines on the front wings but you really sorted it out.👍 Lovely colour, paint finish, detailing and wheel choice too. 👏
Great tip on removing the jewelled headlights, I've always centre punch shocked or drilled them out from behind - this looks so much easier.
Thank you Richard really appreciated my friend 👍

I am massively impressed with the modesty of the description, but delighted to see the MGB: I have one from Martin to work on, including an A-post repair, so seeing this is very timely! Nice, easy dismantle and a good little casting. Lovely result, Luke: an inspiration! I was thinking Sandglow before I saw your video but I might change that so as not to be seen as copying!
Hi fraser do it sandglow mate, thanks for your know comment 👍
Top job guvnor......another beautiful finish 👌🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Did one of these myself a few weeks back and concocted a pretty good 'period' orange for it. Not too shabby ......... 😉
Nice one pal bet it looks nice. Thank you for your kind comment much appreciated 👍
As an idea. You could have soaked the rear door in warm water and the MGBGT decal comes off. Store it on a piece of grease proof and reuse on completion of paint and reconstruction. I have been using this methodology for a while, it works well and saves on a few decals if you have to buy them
Great idea will definitely try that 👍

They'd have probably asked silly money for one in that condition on Ebay. You were lucky the chrome base section with the suspension was intact
Yeah definitely I'm going back to the shop my dad visited tomorrow in north Wales so hopefully I might get some more bargains. 👍
La testicle' du Chen. Tho scaled. Down, couldve just come from the MG production line
