Must have been mildly tuned to be putting those figures and times out!
@@seechim Not much tuning you can do on an NA engine (no turbo boost to play with) to be fair, unless you spend some serious money..chip tuning would give you tops 10bhp if that..so I am guessing it is the usual case of German manufacturers underrating their figures so that they are reproducible with worst possible fuel and conditions
@@randomsurfer3963 I don’t doubt it mate. I had a look, Superchips, DMS etc reckon around a 20 bhp increase so still possible. Mad that it’s still pulling those figures after 18 years of abuse!
@@seechim Yes, true, very impressive, and as you say the car has definitely been driven hard, why else would anyone buy the 3.2..for sure the motor has no idea what is coming its way now though with the turbos haha! Good luck to it..

I had this 3.2 years ago, the engine is solid. There's no change of blowing it up, more chance of blowing up the clutch lol

Yea but you really wouldn't get much extra with just that mabe 20hp. Like the boy racers who just did intake and exhaust on the n/a cars back in the 90's and thought they had 50 extra hp lol! It would need ITB's, new cams, maybe ported/polished and all of the above to make it worth it and to see a noticeable difference. What you say is fine for a turbo car because you can up the boost pressure but it doesn't work well for n/a cars because they have no way of getting more air so realistically you need to increase the revs it produces its torque to to get more power
It’s already been mapped it’s 247 standard, straight pipes sound horrendous on these trust me I had a straight piped NA 3.2 before I turbod it

I have the DSG gearbox with a remap and Cobra exhaust and it does 0-60 in around 5 seconds.
These cars are so underrated and the V6's on them are great!

A sort of official golf R turbo with this 3.2 as a "sport car" would've sell so much, not to mention people who love tuning because it would've been an absolute weapon.
@Adam7890 mine doesn’t understeer, it doesn’t take much to change the handling of them.
@@Mr_OoOsH in the winter i noticed heavy understearing in my time with r32, like a lot in the snowy and icy conditions. Problem is solved if traction control is off tho. Beautiful cars

I have a stiffer rear than front I have an oversteer bias in but it doesn’t oversteer it’s much more balanced

100k was always the sweet spot for mileage to make power on 2.8 vr6 engines the timing chains stretched a bit and made extra ponies
I give you a like for the VR6 alone. And that 0-60 time was good, didn't expect it to be able to do that in stock form.
18,89s is not bad for a N/A car! Some (heavier) 300bhp/400nm new cars do 15-17s 100-200kmh. Just check AutoTopNL's 100-200 leaderboard. :)
Lol, I still have one of these that I bought in 2007... Mine is a DSG though and is only on 53k miles.
I should get a racelogic box, I always thought mine was faster than the 6.2s claimed for the DSG version. I've never timed a 100-200km/h time on it but it seems to get to 125 mph fairly quickly on the motorway.

I enjoyed that having had an array of fast VAG cars over the years, I love the vr6, not great for tuning unless you have deep pockets though… I’m wondering if that had been mapped? Initially I thought the rollers were reading high, but that 0-60 time stunned me

You have to straight pipe this! 3.2 v6 n/a engines don't really exist anymore and sound GLORIOUS! very surprised by the 0-60 but 100-200 was good for the period, with high torque turbo engines there's power everywhere where these n/a engines are all about top end power

The PD130 engine which is supposed to be 130Bhp frequently make 140 to 150bhp standard in reality when standard.

The pain in the manual is needing 3rd for 60 but only needing to get into 3rd but not really use it

The 3.6 vr6 from the Tourag, Q7 etc would of been a sick choice. The bigger displacement would give a noticeable increase in power and torque compared with the 3.2L engine. Good luck with the build.

Might have had a remap tbf bro they don't gain much being na but they do drive much nicer and gain a little. Doesn't really matter as your going turbo but something to think about
Only started watching you recently, you're a natural on the camera unlike most car TH-camrs who are a bit wooden. Looking forward to seeing this build - the 3.2 v6s are very overlooked. It goes well, had expected a 7 second 60.

Yeah for today’s standards they’re not that fast anymore. I’ve had my r32 for 13 years now and I’m finally gonna boost it. Going for the r30 destroke and probably like 700/800 hp👌🏼

@driessen16 bro the quattro on the a3 would 100% give It the jump on the r32 on almost all situations the volkswagen 4motion isn't great and losses a good chunk of power becsuse of it wear the audi a3 with the dsg and qauttro only benefits and belive it or not the a3 is lighter

Once when I was in my teens I took my old e46 325ci out to “Mexico” and a guy in a 3.2 Quattro a3 was drifting around then he pulled up to me and asked to race. I said sure and he gapped my by about 10 cars. After that I raced a 330ci e46 and almost beat him. That a3 is really underrated they’re pretty quick

Dude how is 18 s form 100 - 200 slow ? The new RS3 with summer tires and low temperature does above 10s. This car have like 140 HP less and it is a stock model mot RS.

I am wondering what is going on with the AWD Vtec ? I do not remember what model it was but i am quite sure it was a Honda Integra Type R. The other option is that you did give up on that car after the information about the engine :/

I have a Audi TT 8J 3.2 Quattro manual to say the least there quite fast and surprising and nothing beats the sound of a straight six roaring with a full custom exhaust! But the gear changes on these in a manual are slick!

I want a car like this. I have the same A3(pre-facelift) but with 1.6 engine. Would gladly replace it for this one. Shame there aren't any sold in my country with the manual. I already had my fair share of troubles with DSG(S-Tronic) tranny in my B8 A5 XD
Oh I've always wanted a 3.2 v6 ever since I saw the mk4....mk5 golf. I'm tempted to buy one of these, coming from a 2013 a3 2.0 tdi lol that engine is still beautiful for the age

Pretty sure its remapped cuz the vr32 engines usually make around 220-240 stock even tho claimed 250
Never seen one make less than stock power unless its got a fault, normally make more… just like this one

@@SincerelyYoursLIVE these are always mapped it smooths the torque curve out and makes them much better to drive generally, they don’t get mapped for power very often as the hp per £ ratio is crap.

id hazard a guess its mapped the vr6 is always making under is quoted power stock on dynos and mapped they either make around factory quoted figures or closer to the 260 mark so either its a happy dyno or its mapped the 0-60 would point at that too was better than i thought it would be

I had golf v r32 with the same engine. Chip tuned 258 hp/380nm
Deffo straight pipe it plus give it another dyno to see if that actually makes a difference powerwise would make a good video 😉👍🏻

Fuel level makes a big difference. A lot of test will be full or half tank.
