We use the DOSBox emulator, cranked up really fast (91,960 cycles) so you move very quickly at Fastest speed. Then we use a whole lot of fun tricks and glitches to get through the game as fast as possible. The guard with the cage only shows up if you get trapped by his snare. I go through a small hole where the cliff would normally make you fall, and am able to walk up into the sky and skip a couple jungle screens, including the snare trap. So when you arrive at the camp with the rope, there's no guard, and you skip that bit entirely!
