  • Weihai is the cleanest Chinese city according to some Chinese institution rankings.
Towards the end of our stay in Rushan, we considered looking for a better retirement home for my parents. Join us on this one-and-a-half-day tour of the coastal city of Weihai and check out our surprise find.

Another awesome video! I totally relate to liking a quiet, peaceful place rather than a busy place. I live out in the country where houses are far apart and I have the beauty of nature all around. I'd much rather be out in nature, than around a lot of people lol...

Hi Alfred. That looks like a very nice place for your parent's to retire. I'm not a big fan of city's, but if I had to live in one, it would be a city by the sea. Closing my eye's & listening to the waves crashing on the shore, pure paradise...
    Greetings from Ireland.

@@AlfredXiang I'm sure that you will visit Ireland, one day Alfred. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your many adventures in Thailand.
I'm curious to know, if the food in Thailand is much different from the food in China? And what other differences there may be. Happy travelling...

It's cold and windy in the winter in Weihai, so it is not perfectly fit for retired life all year round. Think twice before purchasing!

Yes, Weihai has a special geographical location. It snows heavily in winter.

We had a flat in Yintan, near Rushan, but found a more comfortable place in Weihai, although met some good friends in Yintan.

That's really cool! I feel many people eventually chose Weihai after Yintan. Yintan is the kind of place you want to stay for a month or two, but not all the year round.

@@AlfredXiang It's OK in Summer, but not many of the new flats have heating for Winter.

Better than Florida and its blue-haired women, overpriced condos and crime.

The rent level is in the middle and lower reaches of China. The economic level ranks among the top in China. So it is very suitable for a comfortable life. Although the city size is not considered a big city in China, it is not small either.

Yep this Septmber I went Weihai twice in monthIt's unbelieve beautiful coatal city, slow living lifestyleIt's like a day dream if you're living in Shanghai for a while like me🤩I'm really think should I move to there or not? I even applied several jobs online😜

    • @AlfredXiang

I can feel your yearning for the slow lifestyle of Weihai. There aren't as many job opportunities though, especially if you're moving here from Shanghai. I really hope you can land a job there so that your dream will come true.

I am from Weihai. The income in Weihai is relatively low, but the cost is much higher than that of similar cities. I do not recommend working here.

Please do not exaggerate. Don't make me laugh. It's not that clean in comparison with Switzerland or Japan.

    • @AlfredXiang

Switzerland and Japan are on a different level. But it's not an exaggeration to say Weihai is one of the cleanest Chinese cities. Please don't put words in my mouth.
