    Thanks for the walk around, got the roof rack and bumper on order after seeing your previous video when you made the exchange.
    Can't wait for mines to arrive sometime Q1/Q2 next year.

    Man, I do like that truck! I've of course seen it on their website, it's awesome that once the motor is swapped it's pretty much ready to go. Thanks for the walk around, I've been patiently waiting to see it. It's too bad your wheels from the xterra wouldn't swap over because they were pretty sharp. But the trade off is you now have beefier hubs and brakes and a bolt pattern that's widely more popular. Can't wait to see it out on the trails!!

      Yep, all good points! Can't wait to actually drive it, :D.

    M205 is a titan front axle, the rear offroad trim axle is a m226, but will that out of the way truck looks great can't wait to see what you do with it.

    Great platform these trucks are! Have to stick with my Alldogs 2in lift with Bilstein 5100's and Wrangler 33's for a couple years before I can do the big swap. Allot going on with the swap as you know.

    Heck yeah buddy, this new rig is sweet! Can't wait to see it being used and modified by you 👍
    One more thing, have you thought about going with the Morimoto headlights?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought about them but I kind of like the OEM ones for some reason. Also, they’re significantly more expensive, 😀.

    My next Nissan will be a frontier. Now whether it's 2nd gen or 2rd gen.. I don't think I could pass up titan swapping, which 3rd gen doesn't seem to have.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am really excited about having a truck. Those third gems are extremely nice though, but there are definitely a lot of options for upgrades to the second gen.

    So what blew up in the old motor?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว

      The old motor technically is fine. What happened is that the timing chain guides were done incorrectly which then fouled out injectors, spark plugs, imploded the cats, etc. So, it was just a matter of chasing down the issues caused by that issue. The motor itself is still running like a champ. Just took some part replacement to work through the issues.

    Man this hurt my heart. Drove it home and the engine blew. I’m triggered from when I bought my first lemon. Wasn’t nearly as nice as this Frontier though.

      Appreciate the sympathy. It's been a few months now and the problems haven't completely subsided, but I'm happy to say I've taken it to Kentucky (about 4 hours away) and Wisconsin (about 7 hours away) and it's doing much better! It's performing great on the trails too. Vids to come soon of both those trips!

      @@AllThingsOverlanding glad to hear. Did you opt for a replacement VQ, a rebuild or a VK swap??

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@richalqhemist2032 Anything ever goes wrong with this motor for good I will probably VK swap it. We actually were able to determine that the timing chain guides which were redone right before I bought it were done incorrectly and that caused all the problems. So with the new spark plugs, ignition coils, timing chain guide kit, timing chain guide cover, new catalytic converter‘s, and new O2 sensors, we were able to get it all fixed.

    Put a toyota engine in it

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, I wouldn’t be against it, but just swapping my known solid engine in should be much easier. Also, it was a bad timing chain swap that caused the motor to blow. It was running fine but the PO did it proactively and messed it up. 🥲
