Money. Most people do not want original artists. They want more of the same vapid pop nonsense they've been pumping out for decades. That's what sells, so that's what the industry chases and that's who gets the most attention. See also: television, film, books, etc.

Absolutely Amazing
I bought her first album "When the Casket Drops" and have loved her ever since. There's no one with her sound. Every time I played the CD I'd say, "This is one of my favorite songs", then realize I'd said it to every tune. I wasn't as big a fan of her second album, but this song is more like the ZZ that I loved from the beginning. She's an amazing artist with a soulful, bluesy sound all her own. Fantastic voice that's full of attitude. If you're not familiar with her work, you owe it to yourself to listen to more of her stuff - especially the songs on her first album. :-)

ZZ Ward is sooooo talented!! I don't know if she has been demonetized like about 80% of the other people on youtube or not. But, I let the commercials play through all the way on her videos, just in case she gets anything from it. It may seem silly, but it is a small way for me to pay respect to honest, true talent. Everyone else I close the commercials as soon as I can. Like I said before she's just so genuinely talented! So, it is just a small way to pay my respect. Even if no one else can see it. You know what I love about this song, I love how they added a guitar solo in it as well, some of the best songs all include guitar solos, there was also a harmonica solo as well which adds something different ❤️❤️❤️🎶❤️
And it's not just some studio musician it's actually ZZ playing it herself. I've fuckin loved this lady since Til The Casket Drops. It's rare I find others with such a taste for blues AND hip-hop.
