not really, this would fall under their 'partially built tanks are ok' rules they introduced a while back, the E-50 and E-75 are fully paper and thus still don't count. you might get the panther 88 and/or a more historical panther II tho
Probably not, at least for a while. This is more comparable to the E-100, which was a tank that was partially constructed. A hull was built, but no finished turrets. So maybe we won't see an E-50 or E-75, but we might see tanks like the Emil or the Geschuctzwagen Tiger. Maybe in the far future, when they run out of ideas, we might see paper tanks. Not sure how the audience might react to that though.

I guess I really don't care if they add "paper tigers" if they can find a way to balance them and they have some way of reasonably representing their performance.
The O-I will be heavily impractical in the game, and it would make for a large turret. The reason why the Maus was removed was because it was hard to balance, the O-I will be straight up impossible to balance

you can, get an M4A3E2 Jumbo and get good at it in arcade, then do the task events to get vehicles you can sell on the market. After that, you can buy other market stuff like the battlepass vehicles or premiums from the store. It's not easy, but it's doable.
Can you do a video about the Ho-Ri? From what I’ve read the “Prototype” model is one of the prototype designs, but the “Production” model that either had a mockup or was slated for production was more like a Jagdpanther. This in addition to the fact that for the longest time most Japanese RHA hulls were modeled as the weaker CHA, many tanks have missing ammunition, and the “Ji-Ro” that was recently added is actually the Hi-Ro
The Ho-Ri Production in game is fake, if I remember correctly. Also, the Ji-Ro in game was initially named Hi-Ro, but people complained that it was wrong, so they changed it.
Gaijin: Deletes several tanks from the German lineup for being too fictional Also Gaijin: Retains numerous Soviet napkin tanks and adds nigh on unicorn American tank
it's kind of true tho Panther II that Gaijin modeled is very inacurrate, because contrary to popular belief it never received 88mm gun, nor either a Schmalturm
Welllll, at least this one was real and not just a scribbled sketch on a very suspect cocktail napkin in an unnamed bar some were... Though I am befuddled why this thing ever got past the Palma-board.
Man, this community pisses me off when they whine about paper tanks, and then wonder why so many copy paste tanks are used to fill BR gaps in this game. As long as paper tanks are not the center of the game, I really don't mind them. I don't think one tank that is historical in every way besides one aspect of it, the upper front plate, is going to be the end of the world.
World of tanks was using the original prototype version of the M6A2E1 with the M6 hull and then they changed for the concept art hull version because that poor think was doing it so bad with a paper hull in Tier VIII.
I'm not sure about the M6A1, but when I was researching the cast-hull T1E1 (aka M6A2) for a suggestion, most sources put its top speed higher than the M6A1 in-game. The T1E1's electric transmission slightly improved acceleration and gave it full speed reverse, but AFAIK it shouldn't have changed the top speed. Either most sources on the M6A2/T1E1 are wrong, or WT's M6A1 is a little slower than it should be. The sources I used for my suggestion gave a top speed of 43 kph (26.9 mph) for the M6A2, whereas the M6A1's top speed on the WT wiki is listed as just 36 kph (22.5 mph), which is noticeably slower. Unless I'm missing some reason the M6A1 should have a lower top speed than the T1E1/M6A2 despite having the same mass and engine, War Thunder's M6A1 is about 7 kph / 4.4 mph slower than it should be.
Love it, gaijin removes the German paper tanks but let's Japan keep its paper tanks and gives it a paper plane the next update and now America gets a paper tank. I wish gaijin would just be consistent.
@@ParanoidAlaskan the german paper tanks never had a working prototype made though, and are so out of the realm of realistic its just stupid to have them included

Sometimes I kinda wish the M6 got refined into an actual frontline unit serving alongside the sherman. Probably wouldn't have seen service past WWII, but it would've been cool. Oh well, I guess we can dream- no, wait, Gaijin made a queue time for that too.
Idk why others hate it but I'm completely fine with paper tanks. Wouldn't it give gaijin the freedom to alter tanks to balance them better? Plus there are some really cool and interesting designs that I would love to see in game
I personally don't have a problem with the tank, but I don't like that it's probably gonna be the lvl 75 reward, the lowers BR one yet, the other BP vehicles are more disappointing tho, I kinda wish that the Russian ship is the LvL 75 reward and that the M6 will be the lvl 50, I personally would have chosen one of the vehicles from the T95 medium project, like the T118/M728.
The pwnther II long 88 and Tigor 105 are more paper than the M6 big boi, but no one dares talk about king sUfFeRiNg. I would be fine with the Chieftain T95. Because they can sell it for two nations while just being a worse T95 that spews coloured smoke one minor hillclimb out of the garage.
The thing is that extra armor plate was proposed is not of roll homogenous armor. It just of regular steel. Which is 50% weaker. Similar to super pershing extra hull armor.
i meant I'm glad there adding the armor cause at least in my experience the regular m6a1 has way to little armor for even 4.7 most of its armor comes the 2 mg's in the hull
The Panther II 88 was literally an impossible design that got put in game. Then they have the Tigor II 105 which is equally bullshit, but everyone wants to whine about the chonk M6 with one sheet of material it was supposed to have anyway.
@@lector-dogmatixsicarii1537 And they removed them once they could fill the gaps in the German tech tree with tanks that weren't make believe. What hitler would have said if germany would have build the same tank: "Ja! We have a new wunderwaffe! This will kill 100 tanks before getting killed itself and will win the war!"
@@donaldhysa4836 difference is that today militarys have the technology, infrastructure and logistics to be able to support such heavy vehicles. Meanwhile try getting a tank which weighs over 40 tons on a U.S. world war 2 cargo ship (liberty ship). Or try to find a pontoon bridge which such a tank can actualy cross. Or find a allied train cart which can carry a 60+ ton heavy tank (spoiler allert: There are none because the allies were not prepairing for war since 1934 and by 1944 it was too late to switch out all railway carts for once which can carry such a heavy tank). Or try to do a amphibious landing of any kind in a tank which weighs 77 tons. Or find a world war 2 tank recovery vehicle which could tow something like that. Oh that is right: YOU CANT! Because in world war 2 they did not have the same f***ing technology as we do today and the reason why germany could afford to build such rediculously overweight tanks (Panther weighs 44 tons, 3 tons heavyer then the loaded combat weight of a M26 Pershing, 7 tons heavyer then a M4A3E2, and I dont even need to tell you about the tigers) is because they were actively prepairing for war since 1934, because they did not need to transport their tanks via ship and because by the time they started vomiting out those overweight heavy/medium "breakthrew" tanks they were constantly on the defensive so they did not have to worry about their "breakthrew" tanks actualy attacking and running across a river during that attack.
@@donaldhysa4836 two answeres: 1. It was extremely difficult for germany to get Tiger 1s to north africa as evidenced by the fact that there were only so few of them there. The reasons why they could even do it in the first place was because they were shipping them across the mediteranian and could therefore use specificaly designed landing craft to bring them from the ships to the beach. Since the mediteranian sea is not the open ocean, there were days on which the sea was calm enough for the landing craft to not sink while carrying them. So they had to ether wait at the shore line for just the right day on which the sea was calm enough (which would not even be possible when trying the same thing on the open ocean like crossing the english channel), then unload them one by one using the few and rare specialised landing craft (which were putting more strains on the german logistics as they did not use standarsized parts and needed their own individual parts being shipped to them) or they would have to completely disassemble them, lift the individual parts into and out of the ships via crane and then reassemble them at their destination which is litteraly the definition of "impractical" and the only reason why germany was even willing to do it was because the number of tigers they shipped to north africa was so small that disassembeling and reassembeling them would not take as long as doing the same with a entire tank army. 2. Germany could transport tigers accross rivers in europe using the large already present regular civilian bridges. As germany was loosing more and more territory as the war progressed they keept destroying those bridges so the allies had to build float bridges which could not carry more then 40 tons of weight. This one realy should not have been too difficult to figure out by yourself, especialy given that like almost every military world war 2 movie ever is based around capturing a bridge before the germans manage to destroy it (for example "A bridge too far", "Saving privat Ryan") but looks like you did not think about that.
@@donaldhysa4836 excuse me for loosing my faith in humanity over you but ARE YOU EVEN READING MY REPLY? 1. Read my comment again. I litteraly wrote "the sea was calm enough for the landing craft to not sink while carrying them." Do you see that word? "Landing craft." Yes incredible, right? There is a difference between a ship and a landing craft, and the difference is that one is limited in the ammount of weight it can carry because it is by design not watertight (since there is a big wide hatch at the front which drops down to let the vehicles/troops run/drive out). "You clearly know jack shit on this subject." 2. "The fact that it was designed to submerge in water also helped as well." You are actualy a lost cause. Having a fully watertight tank is not "overengineering", it is litteraly a standard feature on almost EVERY SINGLE WORLD WAR 2 TANK WHICH THE MAJOR POWERS MADE! But guess what? You cant drive threw a river with a watertight tank if the river is deeper then the f***ing snorkel which in the case of the Tiger is 4 meters. In other words: Every river that could not be crossed by using allied bridge tanks was also too deep for the snorchel equipped Tiger 1. Not to mention the fact that the snorkel is only for the engine and not for the crew compartment so if the Tiger takes too much time crossing a river which is deeper then the turret roof by for example getting stuck in the uneven, extremely muddy and rocky river ground, the crew will sufficate to death quickly, so you cant even use the full 4 meters. And yes, the Tiger could cross regular steel structure bridges designed to carry large ammounts of heavy weight traffic, but as I already said in my previous comment: HAVING SUCH BRIDGES IS A LUXURY! A luxury which the allies simply did not have because almost every large bridge, which germany had previously been using to transport their overweight tanks, was destroyed by germany during their retreat.
M6A2E1 should be a good tank in WT the weak spots should be the middle area around the lower rounded plate and maybe the entire front with if ur tank has good pen. (Also the turret cheeks)
@@W11-o2y Not may be different, it's almost certain. WoT balances tanks by nerfing/buffing their armor. WT can only do a little changes for thay since they wan't to stay historical.
Seeing the in-game stats and test driving it, it feels like it's an American Tiger 2 but worse. Definitely see it more as a sniper/hull down tank than a conventional heavy. It's also really really large, making it very easy to spot.
the US military needed a tank that could match the Tiger II, so they created 2 prototypes of the M6A2E1, the M6A2E1-1 and the M6A2E1-2. Unfortunately, the tank could go on a course with a maximum of 40% incline (22 degrees). At that time, the allies were either fighting on the Ardennes, so the request for M6A2E1 was canceled and the tank never saw the battlefield. Its shape and size were very influenced for that decision. The tanks finished testing in 1946. It had 5 people as a crew. Over time, the first pototype was demolished (1950s) while the second perhaps was slowly dismantled. from this project, the T29 was created
This. WG was the same at some point. WG was shit though... For years there were people asking for Wheel vehicles. And they always answer that they will never add them to the game... Years latter the most broken and Op scout in the game is a wheel vehicle....

they already got plans and schedule for BP for atleast 3 more season. and it'll be hard for darkflow studio to manage multiple games especially one of them is still in beta
I don't like it being added with the extra plate. or added regardless. Gaijin knew this would be a controversial add but they went with it. It sounds like its gonna be a Maus for America and ,based on what happened with the Maus, a generally bad vehicle that is hard to balance. I also don't like the hypocrisy going around with people who would oppose the elephant but approve this despite the elephant, ferninad with mg turret and more amour, being actually made. Overall I think gaijin could have chosen a better vehicle, perhaps one made outside of the U.S.A. USSR and Germany.
I dont know if you have but can you make a vid on how to play german 7.0-7.7 because you give very insightful advice and i cannot figure out how to play germany without just rushing and dying because of the armor.
M6A2E1 probably will play similar to the maus assuming its not rated at a poor br for it and because its at a lower br will face less atgm's and heat but isnt a bunker of a tank
TOG I* would actually be viable as an early war tank. Pz cHEAT shells can't get to your crew if they explode a full car length away when driven backwards.
big fan of the m6a1, just always felt it never had enough armor for it's size, seemed more like a cardboard box with a massive gun. This one's prolly gonna struggle a bit too since it'll be fighting leopards and stuff.
I wonder when they'll add the 44M Tas into War Thunder... from what I know, there were two prototypes developed, but both were destroyed before they were completed when the Manfred Weiss factory was bombed. Nevertheless, it would make a good German premium.
As an aviation main, I’m disappointed with season 3 and probably won’t buy it. Season one gave us the super Corsair. A completely unique vehicle Season 2 gave us the ITP-M1. A completely unique vehicle Season 3 gives us what in my view, is a P-39 in name only. It’s prop and gun are more in line with the king cobra than the aira...Gaijin should have instead opted for a few different options A)The ITP-M2. People love the M1 version already so the M2 would probably buff sales of the battle pass and levels. The M2 is effectively identical only with 3 20MM. B)Make the level 75 reward a unique jet, making either the M6 or Kirov the level 50 reward. Looking back on suggestions for interesting jets, there’s many options namely a couple of flying boat/floatplane jets such as the F2Y sea dart. Otherwise, I’d kill to see more experimental/on paper only aircraft such as the HE-280 and going as far as the E.555 with its variations C)A unique French aircraft. One defence I’ve seen for the P-39 is that “France needs more vehicles” and I agree however we have China for all our copy paste needs. Instead, there are aircraft that have a place in war thunder that are French and unique such as the Amiot 143 bomber and Brequet 482 long range bomber

SLIPPERY SLOPE
Well I'll be honest it will at least make things interesting and possibly more challenging either way I just wanna wait and see how it goes
World of tanks was using the original prototype version of the M6A2E1 with the M6 hull and then they changed for the concept art hull version because that poor think was doing it so bad with a paper hull in Tier VIII.
I dont care about fictional stuff, just make the experience enjoyable
What about the regular m6a1? I read its top speed is capped and that in real life it wouldn't have been so slow. Is that true?
Thanks for clearing this up I had a lot of doubts about this and it's legitimacy, I never knew that design was carried to that extent.

Eisenhauer when seeing the M6A2E1:
"A 77 ton heavy tank? What are you doing? Get this out of here, it is completely impractical."
@@donaldhysa4836 two answeres:
"You clearly know jack shit on this subject."

As an aviation main, I’m disappointed with season 3 and probably won’t buy it.
Season one gave us the super Corsair. A completely unique vehicle
Season 2 gave us the ITP-M1. A completely unique vehicle
Season 3 gives us what in my view, is a P-39 in name only. It’s prop and gun are more in line with the king cobra than the aira...Gaijin should have instead opted for a few different options
A)The ITP-M2.
Otherwise, I’d kill to see more experimental/on paper only aircraft such as the HE-280 and going as far as the E.555 with its variations
C)A unique French aircraft. One defence I’ve seen for the P-39 is that “France needs more vehicles” and I agree however we have China for all our copy paste needs. Instead, there are aircraft that have a place in war thunder that are French and unique such as the Amiot 143 bomber and Brequet 482 long range bomber
