The village of Seillans was built over the centuries around a fortified enclosure of which the Saracen Gate remains, and the ramparts.
It has a very rich historical, cultural and architectural heritage. This medieval village set in magnificent countryside will amaze you with its labyrinth of cobbled streets, rustic porches, shaded courtyards and numerous fountains that can be found around small and large squares shaded by centuries-old plane trees.

The place seduced the painter Max Ernst who lived there the last years of his life and whose work can be admired at the Donation Tanning-Ernst.
Opposite Max Ernst's "Génie de la Bastille", on the village square, we discover the Provençal countryside with the chapels of St-Cyr and Notre-Dame-de-l'Ormeau.
