This MV is the definition of "Every frame is an art". I can make dope wallpapers out of every second of this MV.
I'd love to see it
True
But wallpapers aren't art, isn't it ?
@@sosomovies3333nope
@@sosomovies3333 she isnt saying it is..She is saying the mv is an artwork itself since it is based on painting and can be uses as wallpaper co'z its outstandingly beautiful every part of it.
This message is powerful because it can be but it doesn't have to be about marriage. It is about respect, boundaries, and consent and those are important for anyone even if they're not religious. These queens are bosses and they're calling the shots!
Yes I think, it’s more about general consent first than anything else, but he still made some nice comparisons which could also be interpreted that way. I guess it’s to the eye of the beholder.
@@hanmira Yup, lots of good songs can interpreted different ways for sure! I was just saying there are nonreligious reasons why people might want to wait until they know and trust someone. It can also be a commentary about women taking ownership over their own bodies.
YEAH I came to the comments to say this. I don't think it was really about waiting until marriage, lol. It's about respecting boundaries and consent, not any sort of religion's ideas about purity.
Yeah it's definitely not about marriage. Waiting for marriage as nothing to do with boundaries. To everyone : waiting for marriage is up to you, don't do it because you were told so or because people told you it was better to do it after. It's not. It will be better if that's what you want but that's not universal.
I agree. Consent and Marriage are totally different things.
Not only talking about visual, but Misamo really is talented as well.
THEY FLOP.

Hats off on of the best songs and music videos of 2023 and im saying this as a blink
The best part about this cinematic MV, the message that this song is sending was amazing! Such a genius ways to make people listen and watch and get a positive message at the end.. AMAZING WORK MISAMO!❤🔥

real! I cant believe they arent promoted that much too :(((
I LOVE this mv so much, as a Twice stan AND as an art major. Scenes throughout the music video reference/recreate countless famous artworks (or Masterpieces lol). Someone challenged me to break down the references I could find so allow me to share w the class:
Firstly I have to shout out Momo’s iconic scene during her rap verse- and my favorite- which was a recreation of the Birth of Venus. Just WOW. The bridge includes pretty straightforward recreations for each of the members, with Mina’s being The Swing, I believe Sana’s is both Klimt’s Woman in Gold and Tree of Life, while Momo’s is Klimt’s portrait of Emilie Flöge.
I also found the name of the huge painting in the second verse, and I LOVE the story behind it. It’s an edited version of Botticelli’s Primavera (who also did the Birth of Venus!! They’re sister works!!) which features the Three Graces, who are goddesses of charm, beauty, creativity, nature, and fertility. They often accompany Aphrodite/Venus and their names are Aglaea, Euphrosyne, and Thalia, meaning “radiance”, “joy”, and “abundance” respectfully.
Mina and Sana’s opening scenes seem to be referencing specific pieces, La Grand Odalisque and La Donna Velata. I can’t take credit for these finds though (thank you @isaCarpeLucem on Twitter)!
Lastly, there are other little details that aren’t direct references but reminded me of works I’ve seen. Mina’s hat with holes was backlit, which created a halo effect that calls back to religious iconography in the Renaissance. Momo‘s costume at beginning of the second verse has a veil that reminded me of The Madonna. I’m sure there’s more that I’ve missed- I know that the segmented backdrop in the last chorus is a Claude Monet but can’t remember which one- but I had fun putting my art history classes to use :)
Thank you for breaking it down! I recognized Birth of Venus and The Swing but wasn't sure on some of the others.
looks like misamo all wearing transparent dresses was inspired from three graces as well, i read somewhere botticelli achieved that look w mixing egg white w the paint
I was just wishing I knew more about classic masterpieces because I only recognized a couple of the references. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
I love the consent and self control concept, it really tells about the girls' experience with sexualization. No matter how much you love them you can watch them, but you can't touch them.
MiSaMo are sooooo talented and their visuals are just out of this planet. Their whole project is just pure art. I wish twice as a group could explore more of these different concepts, it would be so great and refreshing.
Personally I read the lyrics as being specifically about a developing romantic and sexual relationship, but I think the broader message is one of consent. Even with casual sex, you need to use words first, to make sure you're on the same page, to check the other person is into it too. That's one of the things I love about the track - it's so focused on the idea of mutual desire and consent. And yeah, in no small part because of that, it's such a sexy song!! (Also just a small thing, but saying "he" finally gets to touch her at the end... it doesn't have to be a man! The message of desire and communication applies across all genders
Yesssss, this is exactly what I was thinking.
This is technically J-pop since its in Japanese and they are the only 3 Japanese members of Twice 🥰 But this message in the song needs to be amplified everywhere especially more in music ❤
Bro not how it works..still kpop
That’s like saying black swan is a global group bec there are no Korean members when they are still kpop
@@DawmnXo that's a horrible comparison lol. Black swan sing in KOREAN, therefore it's Kpop. Misamo sing in Japanese ergo; jpop
@@DawmnXo MISAMO is technically a J-Pop sub-unit cus they consist of 3 Japanese members who released a Japanese album filled with Japanese songs and promoted in Japan. The only way they could be linked to K-Pop is because they are originally from TWICE (which is a K-Pop group for those who aren't aware).
@@gaearin1662 Exactly!
Jordan's a bit late on this one but the art/painting/painter references are:
▪The Birth of Venus - Sandro Bottecelli
▪The Starry Night - Vincent Van Gogh
▪Portrait of Emilie Flöge - Gustav Klimt
▪Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer (The Lady In Gold) - Gustav Klimt
▪Primavera - Botticelli (Les trois graces - shown in video)
▪The Swing (The Happy Accidents) - Jean Honore-Fragonard
▪Vertiefte Regung (Deepened Impulse) - Wassily Kadinsky
▪Grande Odalisque - Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres
▪La Velata - Raphael
Red Velvet had similar painting themes in their "Feel My Rhythm" MV.
▪Ophelia - John Everett Miley
▪The Swing (The Happy Accidents) - Jean Honore-Fragonard
▪The Woman Holding The Umbrella - Monet
▪Four Seasons - Mucha
▪The Garden of Earthly Delights - Hieronymus Bosch
▪Lady Looking Behind The Wall - Paul Dominque
▪Nymphs Finding The Head of Orpheus - Paul Dominque
Fragonard's "The Swing" is conceptualized in both MVs but i think MiSaMo capture the theme slightly better.
Also his minor critique of the water on the Bottecelli scene was way off. If you look at the painting , the water is all still and flat, so if anything the waves crashing were out of place. They were added to give the scene motion and action. To add foreground water motion would have been completely out of place..
Also disliked pushing the christian abstinence values into a reaction.. meh.. MiSaMo aren't saying that at all.
Also again doesnt mention any member's names...
Fun fact: The shell scene might be inspired by the Birth of Aphrodite.
And my friends sent me the dance to force make me learn it for them within a week😅
Almost all scenes in this vm r inspired by paintings
Masterpiece
@@yukdotpng1512 Yeah I only remembered that after I saw Starry night again lol it truly is a masterpiece of a mv
I’m pretty sure it’s Botticelli’s Birth of Venus
Apart from the birth of Venus, the MV also references the swing, starry night and I think a Klimt painting!
its a replica of the painting Birth of Venus
As an art history major, I'm pretty sure I could write an entire paper on the paintings they chose to portray and their significance to this music video, but also as an art history major, I must get back to my food service job and therefore don't have time.
I love how they are referencing/recreate famous pieces of art. That combined with the lyrics and the creaking wood floor gives the feeling of them being like a beautiful piece of art in a museum - you only watch it and love it but never touch it ❤
Love how their MV is inspired by masterpieces, even their album is called that. It is true, it is a masterpiece. The message is soooo good too. It's rare to see the message of consent and respect in pop music, and they did it so well. They're QUEENS.
i like this video jordan, before wathcing i hated TWICE and was 4 foot tall.
now i stan TWICE and am 7 foot tall and have $10
HELP-WHAT
This whole MV is filled with them recreating REAL PAINTINGS AND THEY DID SO GOOD. To portray themselves as timeless masterpieces such as these with these lyrics and the concept of consensual, non physical love, make their recreations even more beautiful and ICONIC❤❤
no one debuts with a song about consent but MISAMOTHERS did that!
Something cool also is that MISAMO’s album is called Masterpiece, and different scenes in this MV (mermaids, Mina swinging, and others) are imitations of actual artworks (or, masterpieces) and using also the idea that one shouldn’t touch a masterpiece (like an artwork) talking about the idea of consent. Super cool little fun fact! Love your reactions/breakdowns as both an aspiring editor and K-pop fan😊
I love Twice's songs because they all contain meaningful messages and are suitable for all ages. I really respect them🤜🏻
the songs about respecting boundaries and consent when it comes with romantic relationships❤
4:03 when you say "it's iconic" thank you so much it really is iconic i really love how u explain about the hidden meaning of the songs it's such a smart move to make people think very hard to understand the tricky part of the mv and get the meaning so much fun along the MV itself, Twice(Misamo) really never dissapoint thanks for reacting to my queens
Isn’t this song and video so beautiful! Thanks for not being scared to share your faith. It’s so refreshing. I waited as well and have never regretted it.
Finally I was waiting for thiiisisssss
This mv literally is a MASTERPIECE
the meaning of this are like not touching people without permission, just like how you cant touch ancient artifacts in a museum.
I APPRECIATE you reacting to this (pun intended) Masterpiece! Always look forward to your thoughts, but this one is special to me--GLAD you liked both the song and production behind this gem!~
Nah bro the way your interweave your faith with your editing expertise and breakdowns is just so good. Huge respect man!
I looove the painting references in this, instantly recognisable but so creative, from The Birth of Venus, then The Swing, then Klimt... And it actually goes with the theme of the song so well: it's ok to admire their beauty, but don't touch or get possessive. And i think it's a message that is important within the context of both Western morals culture and devoted fan culture.
the way the recreated artworks as you can’t touch them 😫😫😫
FINALLY JORDAN you kept the ONCE waiting. I really thought you'll never react to Japanese mvs, but I guess this was an exception! Thank you!
Damn your inner Christian really came out on this one 😂
Love seeing christian kpop stans! Thank u jordan for being open about your faith it means so much :)
Yeah. It's the best part of the video. It's good to see a different pov, in comparison from the others who are afraid of say what they want because it can "hurt people's feelings".
THE MV AND SOMG ARE SO WOWOOWWOW
the actual best girl group out there, all things considered - visuals, messaging, talent
MiSaMo never dissapointed, the best, so beautiful, so coll looking! Queens!!
The part where it looks like impressionism art is reference to actual art. And before people ask I took AP art history last year. I memorized 250 works by title, artist name, time period, what culture it's from, and more. In Mina's part she is in the painting called The Swing by Fragonard. The painting is about a woman cheating but if I were to talk about it; it would take forever. In Sana's part it's not very specific but I believe it's a reference to Gustav Klimt. It could either be The Kiss or Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I. For Momo's part she could be in Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh or Portrait of Emilie Flöge by Klimt. And the part where momo is in front of the shell and the wave crashes behind her has to be a reference to the Birth of Venus by Botticelli. And the other huge portrait where they dance in front of it is Primavera by Botticelli but it's only a small part of the painting not the whole thing. There are so many other references but the whole mv is art.
the message, the song, the mv, the album and the b-sides everything was a masterpiece (pun intended)
9:29 okayyy... 😭😭😭
Fr💀
The message really made it stand out for me. Good job Misamo! Hoping for more from them and Twice
THE FACT THEY MADE THIS GROUP OUT OF A GROUP- LIKE WOW- ✨✨✨ (Sana,Momo,Mina *twice*) SO IM JUST SHOOK. AND THEY ARE IN 2 DIFFERENT GROUPS WHICH I GUESS MEANS DOUBLE THE WORKS AND DOUBLE THE CONCERTS = DOUBLE THE TIREDNESS. AND THEY STILL DID SO GOOD! GREAT JOB MISAMO! ❤️❤️
I also think it is amazing that these three ladies are such awesome friends. They are called the 'J-Line' because they are all Japanese, al born in Japan, all imagrated to Korea in order to do this. They were friends even before they wound up on the competition show together during the creation of the full group. When one of them lost a round and was booted from the competition, another of the J-Line was about to quit with her. They are so close with each other, their friendship is truly amazing! It's why they get 'shipped so much by some of the more crazy fans.
bro repeats the same 3 secs more than survival shows 💀
the mv literally made me shook it's so gorgeous as a whole
Hey Jordan, really enjoyed this one! I’m actually an Art student and the movement they were referencing during 11:34 is Rococo Art - specifically Fragonard’s “The Swing”. But I get the Impressionism vibe as well, tbf 😂
This channel is literally my favorite niche: Christian editor who watches kpop vids. love it here
7:23 That's...not quite the same thing as consent 😅
Legit, it's just a weird thing she wants in the relationship and doesn't have any relation to the actual mv
Misamo slayed and the message of this song?! Wow
Next jihyo killin me good mv pls!
We appreciate your insights. Keep working hard.
every kpop debut/comeback mv, I'm waiting for your review because I appreciate more the mv once you explain the mv/edits. And btw, you are the only kpop mv reactor I watch
Just wanted to point out that the last part where they touch their back is a signature pose of TWICE too... you can see it at the end of I Can't Stop Me and at the end of first verse of Cry For Me
I love how you brought scripture into this. i think that this message defiantly needs to be shared more!
Finally!
I really like songs that have have much more meaning than some repetitive, loud, crazy songs with empty lyrics.
Don't touch is such a good song omg.
Keep up the testimony brother. As Paul says: "Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."
Just like Deuteronomy 22:28-29 says, If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, he shall pay her father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her.
I'm surprised that you didnt adress about the paintings and their meanings cause I think this is what make this MV AMAZING lol
the whole music video represent two words
"MASTERPIECE" and "BEAUTY"
if you look close enough, you'll realize some of the backup dancers are twice members! jeongyeon comes back the most :)
Jordan back to enlighten us with his editor knowledge (・∀・)
But Jordan you ARE very encouraging! Always so positive and complimentary to artists, editors, cinematographers, choreographers. We love your work! 🤩❤
The shell scene, badazzled hood scene and flower swing scene are all references to real painting!
Jordan explain everglow slay next plz and talk about the cool editing parts.
YES PLEASE
Yes we need this so freaking bad!!!!
Thank you for reacting misamo ❤
This channel is just so good, thanks for ur videos Jordan !! So happy I discovered it 😊❤
the MV and lyrics are woow. I've been waiting for this review, Thank you Jordan!
YESSS FINALLY!!! I WAITED FOR THIS
i've waited for so long for you to do misamo..thank you for reviewing it
I love how some parts of the mv are based off actual artwork.
CONSENT QUEENS❤
Yes, misamo create a perfect masterpiece ❤️
I for one agree that more than consent this talks about marriage!
Indeed true, that the best things comes to those who wait ❤
Excellent analysis Jordan! Always appreciate your thoughts :) Blessings!
Well, this reaction and breakdown was definitely worth the wait! I was hoping you would do this one. Thank you Jordan!
Thanksss, finally you reaction to misamo mv. I am waiting for this reaction, and i have fun with this. Please stay health and safety. God Bless you and your wife 😊
the scenes were inspired from famous paintings but i don''t think you catched them
One of the best music videos i've ever seen. Truly a work of art.
Im so happy you made a reaction ❤❤❤
love seeing more openly christian creators
Masterpiece is literally a MASTERPIECE misamo delivered as expected i''m waiting for jihyo's killing me good solo reaction!
my ex thought that my consent was given because we already had special moments together but continually pressured me n eventually broke up when I told him I wanted him to meet my parents. Now I’ve learnt the message of holding boundaries since I’d rather be heart broken than treated like a discardable object. 🙏
It’s a good reminder for women and to evoke the discussion itself as a reminder for women to know their worth. Men too. I love kpop 🤣❤️
In this MV there is a lot of reference from differents arts like the one with the shellfish is from the painting of the birth of Aphrodite the Greek Godess of beauty and love. And there are much more reference! I think also you can associate the girls with a painting what you can love and watch but not touch because she is fragile and precious like a painting.
finally ive been waiting for this HAHAHA
best reactions as always!!!! 🤣🤣
I don't know why i am addicted to this Masterpiece......:)))
These girls ate
Finally I've been waiting for this 😍
Whats the point to make a video if you are not gonna get the message of it? lol this is not only the message in the lyrics is also the video, THEY ARE THE ART
This video was interesting to watch as always because you break down the mv and it's great. I just wanted to say that it's great if you are happy with your relationship and that you were happy to wait for marriage to do it. But this is not universal. Some people don't wait for marriage and are just as happy as you are :)
I respect your beliefs, but please don't push your ideals on everyone else.
Waiting doesn't make it better unless you truly want to wait. Since people get better the more they sleep with each other, it would kinda be other other way around.
The only important message that this song is trying to deliver is to respect boundaries and not try to rush physical touch when feelings aren't even out.
Well i respect your opinion but the way i perceived it he was just saying his own experience and thougts not pushing anybody to do it in the same way. Greetings.
finally, been waiting for your reaction. You're the first reactor that comes on my mind for this..
Finally! I've been waiting for this for a long time!
I've been so excited for you to react to this mv omg 😫💕💖💗💘
WAHHHHHH!!! I'M WAITING FOR THISSS!!!!
I thought the song was about the relationship between fan and idols. As a fan, you can watch your idols from afar but cannot touch them. And it should be that way. In the past, we have cases like sasaeng fans tailing idols' cars or sneaking into hotel rooms, etc. That is toxic. There should be a distance between the artists and their fans because stars are meant to be admired from afar anyways.
The song literally says “you can’t touch me until I say it’s okay”, and “that’s when I touch you, you touch me”
Yes i been waiting for this🎉🎉🎉🎉
MISAMOres probably released my fav MV this year.
But Jordan you ARE very encouraging! Always so positive and complimentary to artists, editors, cinematographers, bbchoreographers. We love your work! 🤩❤
