TWICE have shared that the individual scenes are their own versions of being SET FREE! Now I really wanna know the interpretation for all!
Nayeon - escaping the pressure of walls closing in and choosing to walk her own path
Jeongyeon - breaking free from pressure of constantly being watched
Momo - taking control by being behind the camera
Sana - breaking free from the pressure of beauty standards
Mina - feeling trapped and being able to be free to speak for her own
Jihyo - breaking free from societal standards of how she must look and act as an idol
Dahyun - being confident and walking through the chaos
Chaeyoung - painting a different picture and literally flying away
Tzuyu - burning the strings thats binding her on keeping a certain idol image
These are beautiful and reminds me so much of some of their other title track songs like Perfect World, Fake and True and especially Feel Special who have personal meanings for each member!

I think I've just realised what they were doing with that fake ending. On one of the panels of the theatre it said "Open Run 2015.10 - 'Infinity symbol'". There is a well known "7 year curse" in kpop. Last year they renewed their contracts. That fake ending was to say "We're not ending when you think we're ending. We're gonna keep going however long we want" which plays into the rest of the theme of the video of breaking out from the norms and doing things their own way
I think that might be a theme throughout the whole thing, like they set the old theatre on fire and are entering a new era. like it’s their rebirth as a group or something
Interesting point, but the 7 year curse doesn't apply to groups that are extremely successful. I was never the slightest bit worried about Twice disbanding, you don't quit when you're winning.
@@MarkDeSade100 I mean, it's applied to other pretty popular groups too (see: gfriend), so I don't think it was completely unreasonable for ppl to think it would apply to twice
@@ephalant Gfriend didn't disband because of the "7 year curse", they broke up because their company Source Music was bought by HYBE and they didn't like their new bosses. It wasn't because they didn't want to be Kpop stars anymore, 5 out of the 6 members are still promoting as idols under new management.
it's also really cool how at 3:27 the circle on the bottom right caused by her shattering the glass matches with the circular mirror on the next scene!

I am loving it, like SKZ rewinding the video and jumping out the screen, Itzy and IVE showing the sets, green screens, marks for effects and all the behind the scenes stuff, New Jeans' whole new concept with metaphors of the industry and the fans... and now my queens too! All different, but I'm seeing a cool pattern

Damn !!👁️👄👁️ Even after being in industry for almost 8 years twice's passion for music never changed . Like I've never seen any other group with these much amount of comebacks & content . They have been doing Korean comebacks , japanese comebacks , full length albums , variety shows , world tours , award shows , music bank performances , fansign events with the same passion & energy as their debut. They always gives their 100% in every performance like they've just debuted now . Now they even renewed their contract like girls are you'll not even tired ?? These girls are unstoppable . So much content & wide range of discography with different genres & styles . Only twice can do this 🥰
They were meant to be together i wish i can have what they have

I feel bad for all of the people who have not seen the MV yet (there are a lot) and who are being spoiled right now by the thumbnail.
Getting the surprise from the first watch was really awesome. The timing was perfect, just the right amount of time to make us hope it was not going to end, then the right amount of time with the end logo to believe it was the end. I was already headed to the comment section freaking out about how abruptly the song ended. Thankfully it started back I was so relieved. This could have really been the end of the song, it wouldn't be the first time. Who else completely fell into the prank like me and thought it was awesome ?
Yeah, mv and album is really good. But you know some people supreting hate towards mv and album saying it's worst cb or song is bad.

Well yeah, thumbnail is really great and one of the best thumbnail from jype ever twice gets.
@@try_best There is definitely some kind of misunderstanding going on so basically what I said in my comment is that the thumbnail of this video (not the MV) is spoiling the fake ending prank for people who have not watched the MV yet but might see this video in their feed.
Then I just talked about how cool the fake ending was.

Twice literally never failed to amazed me, even on their 8th year they stay humble and very kind, he 9 girls treat each member as a family and they love each other so much, im so proud of my Queens
I don't know what they wanna get free from or what they're gonna tell, but in the beginning set scene there is written "Open run 2015 october - ♾️"
October 2015 is their debut date and it's gonna be forever or it's about their love toward once or maybe it's about their contract........the song is great btw
Edit : at the same scene there is written "Once through the ears and once through the eyes" it means they are Twice, and they catch our attentions two times,one from their voices and one from their visuals. And we know they're good at this.
Their debut date was also on the vintage clothes shop window in the teaser.
And... although the cinema sign says open run from debut to infinity, Tzuyu turns the sign round to Closed while the cinema/set explodes .... hopefully its just to signify the end of one chapter....!!!

When I watched Tzuyu's scene with strings lit up, I literally screamed WOW!
JYPE is the best creative company. Most of their MVs are at another level in KPOP.
That is exactly the message of the song that they want to give, to go out and try new things, grow as artists and let go of Korean standards, such as making a cute concept and always wearing makeup.
tzuyu's scene felt a lot like katniss everdeen's dress burning into the mockingjay, such a cool parallel and the message fits too

Also the part when Sana, Nayeon, and Dahyun are walking in some kind of hallway, it kinda looks like the hallway from heart shaker because of the doors.
This an example of one of the signatures of JYP/JYPE choreography: lyricism. Often times the dance movements and imagery directly correlate to what is being said. It seems like a simple an obvious direction to take, but a lot of times dance moves are arbitrary to lyrics, maybe just doing whatever feels good to the music, regardless of the words or message.
To dive deeper, many times songs are “written” one way and set to music, and then workshopped in such a way that the lyrics of the final song are different than the original lyrics to some degree. A song may be sent to choreographers with just an early version of the music, before the lyrics are finalized. In these cases, the choreographer may be planning out the dance to old lyrics that will wind up changed or even sometimes just the writer or top-liner (vocal melody composer/arranger) simply humming or using filler words/sounds.
To have a song choreographed to final lyrics means a lot of lead time was provided before the release, allowing all interdependencies to fall into place before the next person fulfills their role. As we’ve seen with Twice, they often record and film their videos multiple months ahead of actual release. There was an Itzy web show where they were promoting Sneakers, and JYP was already saying their then-unannounced next song (which turned out to be Cheshire) was his favorite of theirs.

to be honest, indeed Twice's MV edits in the past few years have gotten better and cooler
with their song and the concept plust the timing of them renewing their contract and winning billboard women award, i wish i get something more frim the mv. like i wish they directed it like taylor swift's ready for it or bad blood. would be mindblowing

Yeah this movie really set the standards for visuals and symbolism
For me, it's like they're living a movie-like life but they don't really enjoy this anymore, they wanna be themselves and break out of this kind of world. They wanna be freed from this kind of living. So they blow up the film their living in in order to be free.
