I think it would be a little easier to go through the catalog prior to building the house and making note of your favorites. That way you're not swayed by what your favorite is based on what you've already chosen. :)
That's what I did and I was shocked at how much the styles did not mesh with each other. I still used them, though.
Definitely, and also pick the best swatch according to which one you love and not which *goes*

This video really makes me wish there was a feature in the Sims 4 to favorite or tag/retag items! It would be so good for organization and quickly grabbing items you use often!

When we planted lavender, my blind dog absolutely hated it and would always bite off the blooms and spit them on the ground. Message received lol

I’m with you on a lot of the Eco Lifestyle stuff. And agree that those doors and arches should come without the metal parts too. Love the door/arch not the metal bit. I also tend to use a lot of dream home decorator stuff too. The beds especially (singles and bunks).
I think building a house with your least favorite items would be even more fun to watch! xD
I think Lilsimsie did this video, but I didn’t think it was that fun of a video tbh. Just her complaining for 15 minutes.

don't judge you, you are an artist! My favorite thing in sims 4, I use in every home is the talking toilet. I give relief to all my mean, mischief sims without hurting their friends and family.
This is so smart I struggle to get my mean and mischievous sims needs met w/o having to leave the house or terrorize the neighbors!

yes! I did this the last time I've built a house and surprise, surprise - it turned out to be my favourite interior ever. love the idea
I did this challenge and was shocked to learn that all of my favorite items did not mesh well together. I also had to go into Debug to get my favorite tree in the game which is the Batuu tree with the hanging lights in it. I know we have two trees that have hanging lights in them in game but they're so big and the Batuu tree is small and cute!
It would be really cool if the sims "catalog " had an option to organize stuff by most used.
I really miss the collections you could make in TS3
I just love your taste. Even the green wall! About what you've said about it being a bit weird, I think it's a nice sort of quirkiness.

So pleasant to watch during lunch - Deli picking her favorite things! It reminds me of watching my daughter build - favorite way to pass the time. If I did this challenge it would be a hot mess. Everything I love clashes! Actually all my builds are hot messes!
I think picking your favorite items based on one general style may be easier, right? I know what’s my fav modern chair and my fav rustic chair but I both love them equally!

I just had free base game only for years, played off and on. Randomly did the trial of eco life. Loved the build items sooo much I bought it as part of a bundle. Been a full blown sims addiction from there. 😄

Watching this video made me SO inspired to play the sims. I literally have an itch to play the sims rn but sadly I can't bc its the middle of the night and my parents would not like that
I get “It’s a small world after all” stuck in my head too and it’s only ever Zazu in Lion King 😅 I love that part
Love it !! Next time you should set all the items out first and then go back and put it all together so that you don’t get confused if you’re picking your actual fav 😂
I think it is interesting that you define your favorites by what you use the most. What I am looking forward to for this challenge is using items I love but don't use as much because they never match the rest of my houses. When I get to this challenge I am not going to worry about matching anything and just have fun going wild with it. I have had a blast with every Buildcrest challenge I have tried so far, thank you for coming up with this concept and sharing it with us.
My favourite items are nearly always from cats and dogs or cottage living. Such different taste but I still love how your builds end up looking!

There's nothing better than spa day titles
This is definitely a classic Deli build. I love it!
i did the challenge today and the result was a kind of modernised bright farmhouse. I used the wallpapers from Get together and combined them with the windows from Eco Living for the first time. The roof has some skylights and I got the hay roof from Island Living. It always reminds me of the houses in my home country in northern Germany. The kitchen is from Country Kitchen Kit and I just love most of the furniture from Cats and Dogs. Especially these more rustic things. Nevertheless, my heart also beats for the Deamhome Decorator furniture. Somehow an interesting mixture.
We literally have the exact same style and favourites it’s like watching myself build haha, also I don’t know if you’re spiritual but usually when you have a song stuck in your head it’s what your spirit guides/angels/ancestors want you to hear focus on the lyrics. loved this video and you’re looking so gorgeous as always 💖💖
This is a signature Deligracy Build. It’s my favourite, the clean lines and interior design is so perfect.

And yes, definitely lay off the coffee when your anxiety is high lol
When it comes to coffee, I do the same thing, Deli. It makes anxiety worse for me, so when I'm feeling the anxiety, I take a break from coffee. It's probably good to give our bodies a break from stimulating substances anyway.
Deli, this build is lit! 🔥 I really liked it and made me think about my favorite items of the game. Also, can I say that I really like your background setting, it looks very clean and sophisticated. 😊
You could grow mint, only issue is it is a creeping plant. I planted it on one side of my yard and maybe 2 years later it was clear across the property growing behind our shed!

I'm with you on the vault kitchen! I don't think I could do this challenge, because there's items I USED to use all the time (old faithfuls) but the build content has been so good in recent years. Eco, Paranormal, DHD, Tiny living etc 🙈 And I just love clutter so it would be a mess 😂
I am a Blooming Rooms Kit junkie lol! I use practically everything from it in all my builds. I'm new to TS4 but I love seeing all these builds and challenges. I have an idea for a challenge but have no idea if it has already been done. The challenge would be creating an entire house using the prebuilt rooms in the game. You can recolour, move, and resize all items included when the room is purchased, but you cannot delete anything or change the wall paint and flooring. You can change the room shape, add any items you want and change the windows and doors that come with it so that the house is more cohesive in the end. I think that would be a fun challenge.
I do this literally every house I build/decorate and I'm not ashamed of it. I think I have pretty good taste lol

I shouldn’t be surprised because my personal style was entirely based on your builds (Especially the twins industrial and townhouse homes although definitely more in common with your most recent builds now) but it’s crazy how many favourites we had in common 😭
In the end I actually got annoyed by how many items we had in common 😭😭 I was like “that’s my bed” 😭😭😭 literal insanity

I wish wish wish that packs had more items and I know that's asking for so much. But that eco light at 22:06 is my absolute fave and I wish Maxis had shipped the pack with all of them separate as well. Since they already rendered it and it would look so nice to have continuity in a build.

You can grow lavender indoors and you won't attract bees. I grow it with my herbs in my kitchen.

I like items in Sims that a lot of people seem to hate on, which just goes to show that there’s something for everybody.

BUILD CHALLENGE IDEA
1.) Your living room windows must face in a direction where the sunset casts an Orange/Red sunset look in your living room. 2.) Your kitchen windows must be facing towards the sun rise. 3.) Your bedrooms must be towards the back of your house. 4.) Your outside of your house must be in brick. 5.) Your flooring in the house must be wood floors or tiles.
6.) Your house must acquire a fireplace.
7.) You bedroom must scream elegant yet modern.
