I can understand why they chase in Arkansas, it's a drug corridor. The interstate is a hub to head north and east coast from the Mexico-Texas border. Arkansas is a big state with little population, meaning help isn't as easy to call for backup, so they have to pursuit or else criminals will see it as a weakness.
