I’m an American who has traveled to Nepal for 7 years and spends 5 months a year in Nepal. If a Nepali guy does something like that to a another guy who happens to be Indian you must trust him 100%. That is the pure honesty of Nepali people. I’ll be returning to Kathmandu in 2 weeks, I can’t wait…enjoy your stay. If we run into each other we can have some tea. Namaste

Calling them Scammers can be misunderstood and used improperly , it can be as simple as people who are trying to make money. But that will often include greatly inflated prices of whatever you would buy from them. Some Nepali people get quite offended when they see these things they don’t like their people and country being represented this way. Even some modern Nepali use these tactics. Nepal is so poor many need a way to eat. People who engage me, I always have some fun with with but know what they want, when I engage people firstI usually trust.Anyway, I always enjoy videos about Nepal. It keeps me close to Nepal when I’m not there. Nice job and thanks for making the video.🙏🏼. PS I stay in Dhapasi which is pretty much right next to Gongabu and am in Thamel at times. 🙏🏼 Of course this is mostly for thamel, when speaking of people engaging you.

If ever any Indian approaches you in this part of town, be wise to keep distance and seek help from locals who are mostly newars or police. Honestly the guy in the black leather jacket from the temple was your saviour, this guy had courage to shove the scammer regardless of being threatened by the white jacket and his affiliates outside the temple who were following you all along and also claimed in planning to extort USD 200 from you as they were speaking in local dialect. You were simply lucky.
