Girsan and Tisas make good 1911's (45 acp and 9 mm). I'm "old school" and have a Tisas 1911 GI on my nightstand. It reminds me of the 1911 I carried as a Marine back in the late 1970's after Vietnam. I'm 66 years old so conceal carrying a full size 1911 is a bit heavy for my older body, but a Sig Sauer P365XL (with a lever safety like a 1911) is perfect for my needs. I'm glad you included information about how hard it is to rack the slide on this 1911. My wife doesn't like racking a slide on a semi-auto so she uses a revolver...:) Keep up the good work my friend...:) Frank in North Texas
Much more meaningful than most "influencers" you see on TH-cam!. Unfortunately here in Canada there is no such thing as legal carry for most civilians so I'm just going to have to watch and drool!
These are extremely smooth shooting, accurate and reliable pistols. In the factory custom 1911 world, the $649 price tag is amazing. Nice in-field review, brother.
Have both .45 acp and 9mm...I will always prefer a 45 for serious social work..a big slow bullet moving at 850fps will do what John Browning intended....make a big hole..9mm is fine with defensive rounds and I appreciate you can usually load and fire more in a large cap. magazine....still stats show "most" gunfights are over after 3 or 4 rounds fired....remember the part where I said" I always prefer"..your mileage may vary as will your opinion....for deep concealed carry I have compact 9mm and .38 specials I carry. Particularly in climates where heavy winter clothing is worn..a 45 ball will be as or more effective than a 9mm hollow point that clogs up with heavy fabric.....lots of books and articles out there to back that up....whatever you prefer to carry and use is your choice..stay armed..practice as much as you can afford and when you do shoot..make sure it counts! If you like the cobra Pistol grips..by all means get them....I really like that movie too..just wish they had not wrecked one of the 3 stunt cars....supposedly Stallone kept the primary car from the movie.
Hello. Concerning the steel grip front (below the trigger guard), does the grip have the outward bowed shape most 1911s have, or does it have a flatter profile? Looks fairly flat in the video, which I think makes for a more comfortable grip shape after many rounds at the range.
Thanks for the video. I love the look of this pistol, but oddly enough, the name "Influencer" just doesn't appeal to me. Otherwise, this seems to be a great little gun. If I were getting one, I'd probably want the one with the five-inch barrel. I might even go for the 10mm caliber although I've never fired one of those. I haven't fired a .45 ACP in almost thirty years. I liked the .45 ACP when I tried it, but I've just never had one get high enough on my wish list to make the purchase. My most likely choice would be 9mm just to maintain ammunition compatibility. I carry 9mm or .38 Special. I carry .38 Special just because I like the old J-frame revolvers, but I don't carry that as much. I also like J-frames so that I can answer the question about carrying with "one in the chamber" by saying that I carry with one in each of the five chambers. When I was first looking at pistols, I was considering 9mm, 40 S&W, and .45 ACP. I've never been a true survivalist or prepper, but as I considered each of these calibers, I realized that a hundred rounds of .45 ACP would weigh almost twice as much as 100 rounds of 9mm. If I ever found myself needing to carry ammunition in a desperate situation, I could carry twice as much 9mm for the same physical effort. The one-shot stop statistics are not meaningfully different between the calibers. I understand that some people have strong preferences that are sometimes based on anecdotal evidence. I'm not disputing their beliefs, but I didn't accept those beliefs enough to choose .45 ACP. As concealed carry has become more common, I'm happy that I chose 9mm. I think that the small carry pistols in 9mm are easier to conceal than corresponding .45 ACP pistols.
@@411Outdoors the fun part is going to be finding holsters. Extra mags it takes any 8rnd single stack as far as I can tell I’ve tried three two with ends like the one that came with it and one with the short metal end which wasn’t as good feeling but they all racked back and ejected fine
I like the 45 acp it is my favorite round. I believe it is the right caliber for self-defense. Using Liberty self-defense ammo in +p. I carry different guns depending on what I am doing and where I am going. But I carry Liberty self-defense for my carry ammo in all my guns for EDC. I have been looking at these Garrison pistols trying to decide what i want to purchase. Thanks for showing this video. You have good information.
Just curious, what holsters are available for this gun? Just bought this gun and i am new to 1911. Starting to think i should of spent more for a bigger name brand for more available stuff.
I prefer 9mm. Less kick and for me that's an important factor as I get older. I can just control the shots better that way. Love the look of the .45s though :) My fav .45 from film is Longmire's. Love those grips!
411, Cobra Movie 🎥 Love It LOL ! Great Review Sir! That is a Fantastic Gun. I think 9mm and 45 are a great carry round 💪! I personally carry 380, so my wife can run the gun if the situation demands. 🇺🇸☝️✝️
Perhaps to add to your review take them apart for cleaning and maintenance and speak to ease of doing, any issues or run spots you see, weak spots, etc .

I just replaced every part on my Girsan MC1911 with Wilson Combat match and bulletproof everything. Girsans are Good base guns to build on.
What all did you replace? Just curious. Just bought this gun he is talking about in the video and im looking to replace springs from wilson combat.

I prefer 38 Super for my EDC.there are a lot of other calibers to consider besides the 9mm and 45.
Can you run +p ammo through these Girsans?
Great review- have had my eye on this company for a while. It does have a solid fan base; low price, and apparently a dependable model.

Dang... You can get a M&P shield plus for $100 or more less than that and have more rounds (in 9mm) and it weighs less and easier to conceal.
This one has various prices across caliber I do believe did you check the 9 mm one?
@@411Outdoorsyeah... They are anywhere from mid $500's to over $650.
Shield plus is around $399 and is 13+1 capacity

Can you replace those grips for like the colt 1911 grips do you know? Like will they fit on that gun?
I’m thinking you can! I’m really thinking about getting the Cobra ones haha
Any MIM parts?
