If the NHRA was smart, they would've opened up the checkbook and wrote whatever it took to get Duck to do some work for them - and actually gave him the authority to do some REAL work, to make some REAL changes. But, it'll never happen. The white collar pencil pushers in the NHRA, IHRA, NASCAR, IMSA(though the DPi cars and the way they appear to be evolving them have certainly been a change in the right direction), IndyCar, etc., they're so closed minded and utterly scared to death of change and evolution that they will NEVER bring in the legitimate visionaries out there like Donald, the people who could not only turn around this inevitable slow, creeping death that these organizations are currently on the path of(they're, at best, absolutely stagnant, plateaued with no meaningful growth anywhere in sight), but could positively pull a 180° turn around and generate the exponential fan growth that these organizations so desperately need. It's sad, too - who else could you point to that has PROVEN that they're more qualified to lead the turn around of an organization like the NHRA? Who else has INDEPENDENTLY been able to generate more fan interest, more car turnouts, more fan turnouts than Donald? And, does that not make him inherently qualified to take the reigns of the single largest drag racing organization in the world? Seriously, who else could possibly be more qualified than the most successful promoter in drag racing? This used to be how businesses were run; pure and utter results superceded all else - at least for the most successful ones. My license plate on my Chevelle is SWT16L. I have a Sonny’s Racing 1005 cubic inch big block. He’s NA and depending on tune I can go from about 1400HP to 2,367 at the wheels. I did some of the install myself but I had a lot of help from my uncle.
