This is why my entire stack of gold is fractional, mostly 1/4 ounce coins, some 1/10 ounce coins, and a few 10 gram bars. On the surface, I am only starting to break even on my previous gold purchases as compared to the increasing spot prices. The problem with fractional gold, as you know, is the high premiums. The same conditions apply to silver. With silver, I am just starting to break even there as well. For now, I am not buying either. If the price drops a decent amount, I will buy more of each. If the price does not come down again, I will still profit (more precisely I will preserve my wealth). So, it's all good. I am not selling either unless I absolutely have to do so.

Better so have some gold. Premiums or not. Keep smashing it :)

@@jaredroussel Yeah, I agree with your opinion of yourself but you probably have some other redeeming qualities.... I never said that precious metals are an investment. I have most of my modest savings in traditional investments and I even have some money in individual stocks. I view precious metals as a savings program and as a way to keep some of my wealth outside of the banks. 1/4 fractional gold is what I can afford. So, that is what I buy when I can.

00:27 📈 Over the last decade, gold prices have risen by 153%, with the current price of gold at £1,935 per ounce.
01:18 💰 The soaring prices pose challenges for gold buyers accustomed to lower prices, impacting their purchasing power.
02:29 📉 Gold's historically stable nature has seen an unusual surge, making it less accessible for average buyers.
03:39 🤔 The escalating prices may lead buyers to consider fractional gold bullion or shift towards silver investments.
05:05 💡 Fractional gold bullion, despite high premiums, emerges as a more affordable option amid soaring gold prices.
06:12 🔄 Despite the steep rise in prices, gold remains a valuable asset for wealth preservation and inflation hedging.
09:26 🛒 Rising gold prices may necessitate a shift towards smaller denominations like 1g gold bars for more accessible investments.

Well that is historically true, the world economies of today are nothing like they were even 13 years ago. It's a complete divergent system with extreme wealth on one side and a growing poverty class on the other. The middle class is disappearing and gold rising the way it has, and if it continues, will solidify it as attainable only by the wealthy on purpose.

Gold not being affordable in future, for us individuals, is happening right now,
When you're gasping at £2000, is indicative of your belief in a fiat/fake currency.
This perception against a back drop of debt and inflation.
My first 1oz gold britannia was £850 now I buy 1oz platinum britannias for just under £1000.
Ive boosted my 22ct sovereigns and find the full and half sovereigns very liquid.
My britannias are my forever collection, as are my silver 10oz Royal Mint bars.

This is a gamestop/Robin hood moment for gold. If the people unite and keep buying at this rate the system will break and we’ll be one step closer to getting back control with real prices reflected. BUY BUY BUY out of spite if nothing else.

  • @AdrianSams
    @AdrianSams 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I firmly believe that within the next 10yrs the UK will be forced to de-value the pound due to unsustainable debt. The US Dollar,Japanese Yen,Chinese Yuan and the Euro are all in trouble so gold at £2,000 ounce may well look cheap in the coming years,. My strategy is to buy best value sovereigns which have low premiums. I do have some Britannia's and will likely buy more in the future but I'll probably dip into 1/2,1/4 Britannia's too. Silver isn't for me due to 20% vat in the UK unless it's bought on the secondary markey which can be risky.

Up about £300 per oz since end of February. Hitting £2000 sometime this year doesn't seem too far fetched.
Am thinking maybes fractional platinum might be a good option to get into also as well? A 1/10th platinum Britannia coin retails for about £120 now at Bullion by Post or around £970 for a 1oz best value platinum Britannia.

50,000 gbp worth of gold 5 years ago is 90,000 today.
Prices feel a tad high right now for buying but with a few months of it holding at this level, it'll feel ok at that point. Despite us always knowing that buying today, even at these prices is a solid play over a 5 year future horizon.

Enuf with the whining about the price of gold!
    It's still too low! I want $10,000 gold and I don't care if Johnny-Come-Lately can't afford it.
We've been telling all you gold-hating bums for years to buy gold before it's too late but you wouldn't listen, calling it a Pet Rock and other stupid insults and saying that it doesn't pay interest... bla, bla, bla!
So, put a cork in it. At least you can still buy it with worthless counterfeit currency.
Just wait until nobody will take counterfeit money for it and you can't get any at ANY PRICE.
