      @@spiderjump I've actually seen people spar with it and it's actually very good for self defense, you just need to actually practice sparring with it just like any effective martial art. Many are just content with going through forms. You also need to combine it with grappling of some sort.

    Shi is Li Xiu Ren, daughter of Li Zi Ming. He was one of the most important masters of baguazhang.

    All of you talking about Air Bending while not knowing about the Hyuga Clan from Naruto. Baguazhang literally means "Eight Trigram Palm" which Neji and Hinata use.

    I started practicing out on the porch during Coronavirus and couldn't figure out why people were so into my Tai Chi and Bagua. Then I heard about this movie Avatar. I have a Silat and Escrima background so I have good skill with weapons and I am working on Tai Chi 3 foot stick! Love, Mike.

    This style is based on double saber techniques. See the hands as two sabers and it makes more sense. The foot works, the slashing and finger stabbing with the hands. And her explanations are elegantly put. 👍👍

    Excellent video. The martial art has variant Latinized spellings from before Pinyin. Ba Gua Chang or Ba Kua Chang being amongst the most common before Pinyin. With proper training, the palm (chang) is stronger than the fist (chuan), at least from my observations.

      I practice Pa Kwa Chang, Hsing-I Chuan and Tai Chi Chuan, all combines very well. I've been doing them for the last 60 years.

      @@EduardoRodriguez-ks4em There is a martial arts writer named Smith, as I recall, that wrote a worthwhile book on each of the three aforementioned internal styles of kung fu about 40 years ago. Sun
      Lu Tan was a grandmaster of all three. Probably the only grandmaster ever of all three. He lived about 130 years ago. Thank you for your comment, Eduardo.

    Looks like a very graceful martial art. I would to try it one day along with xing yi quan. I think some bagua schools teach xing yi alongside bagua together.

    One suggestion, the shooting during playing Kung-Fu is the way too swing, please make the camera still a bit. 摇晃和太花俏的镜头不一定体现功夫的高深,反而觉得你们的镜头在帮他们隐藏着什么,而且看得人头晕眼花,这不是电影,这是纪录片好吗年轻人?

    Bagua the martial arts is not the same as Bhagwan the martial arts. Bhagwan martial arts is the complete system whereas the Bagua is a short 1960’s made version from the old memories. It’s not the true form. It’s very nice to watch and it’s theory’s are very Hindu based. When my family was ruling in China the arts would of been captured like many other Shaolin Wudan styles as Kungfu came from it as flowing movements and became commercial during the 1950’s.@🕉🔺➕

      所有的功夫基本上實戰就是鎖喉插眼.封喉.踢鐺.比賽就是王八拳.實戰一開始一表正經比招式然後突然踢鐺.比下流.而比賽有規則.範圍又近.還來不及比畫動作.只好使出最快的招式王八拳完全不用思考套路.分析完畢....
