I love that Leigh continues to add more to his "International Man of Mystery" legend. The amount of respect and passion he has for basketball as a global sport really warms my heart. Keep up the amazing work!
Luka's father graciously omits the fact that the tallest people in Europe live in the Balkans... He was blessed with this genetics, so it does make it easier for sports. Plus the competitive mentality he did mention.
Great interview Leigh. Just from traveling through that area, it’s still surprising to feel the tensions between the different countries, but it’s clear that sport is what can unite them.
@@leighellis76 no thank YOU for traveling the world and continuing to grow the game I appreciate you beyond words keep up the great work safe travels 🫡 and shout-out Roxana for being fully supportive in the journey
This was incredible Leigh Leigh! Excellent interview! Next you should go find the Jokic brothers and tell them that Luka is the best current basketball player from Serbia or Slovenia, and then you can interview them afterwards through a Stephen Hawking style computer ➡️ talk device when you finally make it out of the hospital.
Basketball-wise Luka has it all. But he's got one balkan thing that not many understand: The sick drive to compete; that "nećeš ti meni" mentality. You can't explain that to someone outside from West Balkan.
Nice interview no one did it. Hope to see you in person LL been following you since 2014 the starters lets do also one on one and shooting in the phils
This journey you’re on is awesome man, keep it up! I have tweet notifications on so I know straight away when you come and hoop in London. If you get a London run going I will for sure be there to give you some buckets mate!
good talking point about balkans being not just great in sports, but being literally the greatest sporting nations (per capita of course) modern day spartans (who were also balkan)

Yeah but all the great basketball players come from former Yugoslavia not the rest of Balkans.

Yes, Louis, basketball and sport in general has the ability to build bridges and connect people.
that's because slovenes are "racist" towards people like saša
yet almost all slovene athletes have serb dads

This is actually a good idea (not stirring the Jokic brothers up) but trying to get an interview with them.
