After Zidane's two headers we knew it was all over because France had a rock solid defense and towards the end of the match Petit put the icing on the cake. My brother went crazy over France's victory. 98 WC was such a great tournament.

Been a France fan since around 1996. Even bought a jersey during my first trip to France in late 97/early 98, which had no stars on it yet. This match was awesome. Remember watching it alone in a room because everyone was rooting for Brazil 😅

France played the last 25 minutes with 10 players and during this Time Brazil only managed to create one Goal scoring Chance. France won 3-0 even though they missed three 1 on 1 chances( 1 by Duggari 2 by Guri).Viera did more in 20 minutes than Rivaldo did in the whole. France deserved this one
This French team was special imo especially in defence and midfield. The only thing they lacked were quality finishers otherwise they would be more dominant in this world cup. That was the only reason why France didn't win the euros in 96 despite having cantona in his peak who was one of the best player of that time.
