GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!!!! I have seen a few documentaries regarding Vietnam and the absolute hell they went through. Jungle operations seems awful. I think this is a cool take on a classic Seiko. This seems clean and would make an awesome daily or GADA watch! I agree with you on the crystal and crown, although I have Citizen watches with similar crowns that are a bit of a hassle but you get used to it. I have yet to own one of their watches but I like the company! Thank you for another awesome video Aviv! Take care and be blessed brother!
I love mine. Lorier got me to like plexi crystals that I can buff up myself, so I kind of wish they went with that if they wanted to save $ instead of using a full saphire crystal.
I just recently started watching documentaries about SOG operations and operatives in Vietnam. Fascinating! This brand grabbed my attention lately with their D-Day limited editions, especially the one with the dial made of the door of a C-47 (we call it here “Dakota”) that dropped paratroopers on that day.
I've been researching MACV-SOG for this review and it's pretty amazing what they've been able to do during their short time of operation. Praesidus gets my love for putting these kind of stories in the spotlight. Thanks for watching!
Great story as you suggested. They've done an excellent looking watch too, especially that dual colour day/date. I agree with your cons but do think the cost is fair. I would add that 5 ATM water resistance is a poor choice. They should have gone for higher. Top review 👌 👏
I have the sunburst dial facec with green numerics, it also has the black tropical strap and is comfortable to wear . I also own the current Seiko 5 version wich has slightly larger numerics but both are worthy watches in my small military watch collection
I genuinely like it, and I don’t think the price is too bad considering what they are trying to do. The mineral is not deal breaker, but a sapphire would have been a deal maker for me. Thanks!
Very cool looking watch. There are some Seiko vibes in there, like the hidden crown and the shape of the day/date window and that black and white contrast within that window is a cool touch. I really like the colour of the dial. Can anyone explain to me whether this is a real thing, sapphire coated mineral crystal? If it had sapphire, it would be a contender for me.
I've seen that done before by a couple of different brands. It must be cheaper than sapphire otherwise I don't see why use sapphire coated mineral crystals. I would prefer sapphire as well.
Always looking for a field watch with a date (and day) functionality. IDK about you, but it just makes sense to me that during the Fog of War when knowing what day or the week or day of the month it is can easily slip your mind when you're trying not to die that that information could easily be contained in a wrist watch. Weak water resistance also doesn't make sense. You're warring outside, crossing streams, getting rained on, covered in blood, etc., why isn't it a screw down crown?
The whole point of the MACVSOG Seiko's was that they weren't USGI issued nor made in the USA - Printing USA Assembled on the dial makes no sense for an homage to those old Seiko's - Buy a newer Seiko that resembles the original Seiko 5's - They can be easily found on eBay
No one said they were USA made. They are ASSEMBLED in the USA, which is a completely different thing. The parts are sourced from Asia (mainly Hong Kong) and the watches are assembled in Pennsylvania, USA. Praesidus are very open about that and are not hiding it.

Greater water resistance would be nice, you're absolutely right Matty 🙂

It’s a good looking watch and review

These are valid points, though I can't imagine having to screw this small crown in and out 😅
ugh.. yucky seiko. however thumbs up for the great video
@@zillsburyy1 Lol. Different strokes for different folks I guess!
I'm glad you've enjoyed the video 🙂
Never heard someone clown Seiko before. I would buy a Grand Seiko over most luxury brands.
The original watch was Seiko , your comment Yucky doesn't make sence in this video regarding a historic watch

I see your point but I don't think a homage watch has to be a 1:1 copy of the original.
Thanks for watching 😊
You miss the point, the company produces them in the USA and they take pride in that.
@@TOO_TALL305 They're missing the point, then...
Praesidus is NOT a USA made brand, it comes out of China, you liars!
