Seaton Tramway, August 2024

The Seaton Tramway, is a 2ft 9in narrow-gauge electric tramway in East Devon. It runs for 3 miles along the former standard gauge Seaton Branchline, between the seaside town of Seaton, Colyford, and Colyton. For the vast majority of the route, it follows the scenic Axe Estuary, before travelling inland through countryside to reach Colyton.
When I first visited the tramway many years ago, our first tram was no.2, however, due to night falling and temperatures dropping, it was swapped at Riverside Depot. Since then, it had proved elusive. Fortunately on this visit, I was finally able to traverse the full line aboard car no. 2.
Join us as we arrive at Seaton, for the journey up and back to Colyton, taking in the spectacular views as we do.
