Good for you for not sending them so much money. I see a lot of Hmong Americans who don't even own a house but sends money to Hmong Lao to buy land, build house, rice paddies, rubber tree farms, mopeds, etc. It amazes me why Hmong American's think Hmong Americans are rich and Hmong Lao are poor when Hmong American's only have a house on 1/3 acre land, a car and a job. But the house and car still belong to the bank. When get laid off, the Hmong American then has nothing. But Hmong Lao has land, house, hectares of rubber trees, rice paddies, a mountain size rice field (literally), cows, etc and most importantly, it's all paid for.
