Usually people assume they themselves are straight bc that's the "norm" so if a "straight" girl hadn't put that much thought into it or is in denial they can be turned by someone who attracts them and makes them feel safe

I can relate to how you feel about the word lesbian! I definitely tend to call myself gay. Lesbian sounded like such a negative word when I was younger so it made me uncomfortable in a lot of ways

i also find it so interesting to hear how my lgbt friends call their sexualities, and i definitely feel you on saying "gay" more than "lesbian" and how lesbian has all these stereotypes attached to it, it's really easy for me to call myself gay but it's hard for me to announce myself as a lesbian even though i mean the same thing either way!

This girl is terrific . It terrific to hear somebody say that you don't have to experiment to know your sexual orientation. It's just part of knowing yourself. People that say they're experimenting are just afraid of admitting whether they're gay or straight so they call it "experimenting". Perhaps in a few cases the media or society has them all mixed up about their own identity.
