    Looks great except the legroom for back seat passengers. I can't stand cars that are huge on the outside but don't have room inside

      I agree that the legroom could be better, especially thinking of the length of the wheelbase. But I have been into a Q6 and I am 1.94 in height and when I sat at the front and didn't have the steering wheel pulled way out (which is the case in the review), then I had a fist+ between the seat and knees, which I find acceptable. Q8 has better comfort there, but is also a little longer in wheelbase. Again, it could be better.

      The first thing I look at in ANY FAMILY car is legroom and rear seating - can you get three across the back? This seems to fail on legroom, looks tight. My iX3 is bigger, I get 250+ miles real world, it's relatively quick and the interior is very high quality. Not sure what this Audi gives me for £15k more for an equivalent spec?

    Nice to have ports on both sides, but they didn't need to electrify them (IMO) as it's just something that (No doubt!) would be VERY expensive to fix if/when they go wrong 🤔

    I'd still rather have the Q8 E-tron, or even the older 2019 - 2023 E-Tron. Less efficient, but just looks so much better in and out, quieter and smoother, plus no giant glaring plastic screens in your face, smaller more subtle screens instead which I think is the sweet spot

    I drive a BMW iX and totally get your point about the center tunnel. The iX doesn't have one so you can put bags in the middle area, front & back - this is a really useful space to put food & drinks on long journeys without taking away leg room.

    A great preview, thank you.
    I used to drive Audis for more than ten years. I stopped when they bungled the switch to EVs. This starts to look as if Audi are beginning to get it right again and it is telling that it is the engineering rather than the software (still) provides the key selling point. The car is too big for me and at £69k is a silly price. So I would not buy one but it is a serious improvement on what Audi have been doing since before Covid.

    So many negative comments! This car certainly isn't for everyone, and yes it's expensive, but the vast majority will be sold as company cars where the price is irrelevant to the person driving it. I have one on order; I looked at everything on the market and this car ticks all of my boxes. I've done a test drive (unlike most of the commenters!) and the rear seat legroom is indeed a bit disappointing but that's not too important for me, and unlike some cars you can get your feet comfortably under the seat in front so that mitigates the problem a bit.
    Some other impressions of mine: I don't have an issue with the on-screen aircon controls, they are always there and they work fine. The screens are really great, the interior is a big advance from the older e-tron models (I like the Q4 but when I sat in one after the Q6 it felt old in comparison). The seats are extremely comfortable, and visibility is excellent - the surround cameras, especially the side cameras, will be very useful particularly as it's a wide car.
    Audi's main competition has traditionally been BMW and Mercedes, and it's in the same price bracket as those (maybe slightly cheaper than the equivalent Mercedes). The EV market is overturning the traditional pecking order of car brands, though. This is a great car and I'm sure it will be popular with Audi drivers but whether it will stand up against the cheaper competition from companies like Kia, Hyundai, Tesla, BYD and even brands like Peugeot (whose new EVs look very good too) remains to be seen.

  • @agamjaini
    @agamjaini 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

    The final comparison on price made no sense. So they placed the iX3 and iPace as more expensive for lesser range, but then said that both the Polestar 4 (more spacious) and Kia EV9 (much larger) provide more range for a lower price...then how does the conclusion make it look like this is better value overall? 😂

    • @BBingo-v5i
      @BBingo-v5i 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The KIA EV9 does not have more range, it has the same range and cost equally much. It does offer more interior space, but that's kinda the only advantage.

      @@BBingo-v5i thanks for clarification. I think the EV9 generally provides a host of other features that aren't on an Audi's menu or they cost a lot in optional extras. So if you do a like for comparison between the higher spec models, I guess the EV9 might look like a bargain :)

    I'm not a smoker so I don't pay attention to it but Germans have been offering smoking kits for ages as an option. Now it seems Audi has ditched it as a standalone option and made it part of their storage package (the one that gives you cargo nets and such). At least on the Q6. It's been years since I looked at an Audi. So, you should see it more often as that package is quite popular.
    I vaguely recall a car where the central screen would show one thing to a driver and another to a passenger. E.g. navigation for driver and movie for passenger. I can't recall what car it was, my bet would be either Mercedes or Audi. Maybe 15 years ago.

    • @donvanvliet9477
      @donvanvliet9477 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, I dont think so. I think the idea is that they are just weaning people off the ICE concept in steps that customers can manage. It would be impossible to 'convert' the PPE platform to an ICE format. An EV stills needs a radiator (to cool the batteries) so some form of air intake is still needed. That intake in my Q8 etron has a flap to control the cooling flow.

    This might be a decent EV for petrolheads who want to make the switch. But experienced EV drivers will find those regen paddles quite irritating.. Most EVs you simply put the car in gear and it has full regen. With Audis you put the car in gear but then as you start out you must then use the paddles to select some level of regen by pulling on the paddle multiple times. . AND, in my experience with Audi even the max regen is not as strong and efficient as regen on other EVs. Secondly, the map does NOT allow you to tweak the display while driving. Instead it gives you a message that "For your safety you cannot adjust the display while driving" !!! So, your car simply drives off the map so the map becomes useless!

    So many cost options added to this car - you should have said which items were options. There must have been over £10,000 of extras on this car. Do not get the lowered powered version - it feels slow (I have driven it). Get the Q4 if you cannot afford the more powerful version. The Q4 feels like the same size inside and has way better city driving characteristics - the turning circle of the Q6 is over 12m but the Q4 is just over 10m. The Q4 has another advantage: the climate controls on the Q6 are only via the screen but the Q4 has dials for the controls. However, the only real difference between these cars the the option of a white interior for the Q6!

      To answer the question who is buying £60K+ EVs - In the UK I’d suggest - Business owners who can write the purchase price off against business tax, retirees with their windfalls, other people with access to windfalls and the double income no kids yet middle-class eco-friendly strata.
      The amount of interior space especially rear cabin seems very poor in a car 4.771 m long. It’s longer than a Tesla model Y (4.750m), longer than an I-pace (4.682m). Some of that boot space might have been better shared with rear cabin?! The ionic 5 at 4.635m boast just 2L less boot space and significantly more rear passenger space while being over all 13.6cm shorter.
      Good luck getting that Q6 parked in a UK multi storey car park or city parking space.
      It’ll have appeal to existing Audi SUV ICE drivers wanting free ULEZ access, lower servicing costs and potentially business tax breaks.
      I’d be interested to learn the comfort features do rear seats recline, slide? Are front seats available as ventilated, massage seat functions? HUD? Panoramic sunroof? with blind? Etc.

    I don't like the idea of regen paddles. Don't know who that is made for. I would imagine you either want one pedal driving, or you don't. No need to have something to change it on the fly. Also, there was no discussion of how it handles road trips and suggesting chargeing stops, and what types of charging locations it recommends, or even has in the database. My personally, I would like a front that does not have some sort of fake grill. Those countours would be harder to keep clean, or put any type of wrap or film to protect it from wear.

      @@mako9673 The EVs which have regen paddles behind the steering wheel is not so much about changing regen on the fly -but you can - but more about being able to switch from ipedal when in traffic to Auto or a low level of regen when on faster roads without having to navigate the function through a touch screen. In my GV60 I often do exactly that- it’s just a few extra miles of efficiency easily obtained. With accessibility like that you can easily improve the cars efficiency without other more intrusive adaptions to your driving like using ECO mode or using HVAC sparingly. In my GV60 2 years on and my RWD Premium model is showing a life time efficiency of 3.5 mi/kWh.

    • @BBingo-v5i
      @BBingo-v5i 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It is not smaller inside due to the bigger headroom, it is also not really more expensive and it does look better than the Polestar 4, tho if the missing rear window is good design or bad is subjective. The Poleatar 4 is more performant, yes, but the Audi Q6 is a real SUV whereas the Polestar 4 is a crossover coupe. It should be faster and more efficient just because of its shape and market positioning. Every single point except for the design and the acceleration is wrong and those two can be argued about. On top of that the Audi has an 800V architecture, the Polestar has outdated 400V. The Interior is also better in the Audi. Audi clearly wins

    • @suvann540i

      @@BBingo-v5i agree to disagree. you get much more in the polestar over the audi. obviously looks are subjective, but interior space is not. having more headroom is useless to a rearward facing carseat or someone who is > 6ft tall and they're sitting behind someone who is 6ft tall. audi fumbled the packaging in their first bespoke EV. The terrible use of the center console space is a real headscratcher. What were they thinking? also, how can acceleration be argued about? As for the 800v vs 400v architecture, sure it would have be nice to have the additional charging speed. However, it's July and i've only had to charge publicly twice this year and each time for only 10mins (tampa to orlando and back). So it's not that big of a miss. What IS a big miss is not supporting V2L/V2G, which the polestar 4 does have. I'd rather charge slower than not have that.
